In before people refuse to play because the voices for the females are too sexy and there's a boob modifier.

Looks ok, nothing really exciting there for me though.

Really surprising how little interest there is about a FF mmo, 300 views when it's been posted everywhere :/

The character creation definitely looks leaps and bounds above the original, but it still leaves me feeling like they could have done more with it. If seems like most current MMOs support way more variety (hairstyles, faces, sliders for hair/eye color, etc). I know it is probably being done this way as it is far easier to optimize when you have a limitation on the selections, but it feels fairly restrictive too.

Not saying it is terrible, but I was really hoping for something a little more robust I guess.

Youtube have this strange behavior of only showing 300 something views until a certain time has passed.

I never understood why people are so attached to this mythical "UBER CHARACTER CREATION SCREEN!" when it comes to MMOs. Eventually, you're going to look the same as everyone else in your chosen job/class/profession. There's not to also mention that the hair/eyes/face aspect is covered and you're always staring at the backside of your avatar anyway.

To me, time spent on making a robust character creation screen is time wasted. All it will do is wow you for 1-5 minutes while you play with the sliders and then you get into the game. I'd rather be wow'ed from actual game mechanics and gameplay than staring at a blue background and tinkering with sliders (that you're going to forget within a week's time).

I know it isn't as bad as FFXI, but I always felt a little cheated when I saw so many people that looked exactly like me running around. Having a unique character adds to your attachement to them. At least that is how I see it. I definitely understand that things like face/eye/hair tend to get covered up (although SE did add a way to remove the head gear graphic so you could see your head at all times, even with something equipped), I just think it is nice to be unique and be able to have a large amount of artistic control over your in-game persona.

This new one reminds me of character creation in The Sims II, a little bit. Mostly the character's reactions to what you're doing.

I like it.

I obviously can't speak for everyone, but i'm ok with it personally. It's more than the original, plus it gives plenty of options to create a unique character, and at the same time, not so many options that you spend 2 hours in character creation.

<edit> spell check.

I like how with the boobs size selector they went smallest, largest, then they clicked the middle on and just couldn't bring themselves to click ok ^^

I really like the new creator, especially the AF option. It's nice to know how you will look in epic gear. I know I would have picked a different face tat and maybe different hair because of how it looks in some gear.

I'm a little disappointed in the creation options. I do not personally care for 1000s of options but I know alot of people out there do. When square-enix said this will be more robust I guess I was expecting more. It seems most of the new options are simply the addition of more "face tattoo art.".

Oh, dear. About the lack of new hairstyles: people on the official forums are already saying, "It's only alpha, there's probably more to come."

Roll on Golden Patch post-re-release! The whole process begins again... Smiley: lol

You say that now, but try going six months without feathered bangs and you'll be talking differently.

seriously though, an MMO doesnt need a robust character creator imo. i know that sounds...wrong somehow, but the visual customization should come from gear/dyes anyway (and scars/tattoos obtained during gameplay, but somehow no one has figured out that this would be cool yet; and i cant wait for my avatar to have the Mark of Dalmund or w/e they decide to do for survivors*) this looks more than satisfactory, and tbh, i only watched it to see what theyve been doing with the interface/title screen.

new arrangement of title screen music is boss btw.

*any berserk fans here (the anime/manga) btw? i think yoshi is a fan. for proof i offer:

exhibit A: Dragoon AF helm**, which makes my dude look like Griffith after he got demonized
exhibit B: evil monsters pouring from the sky to kill everything, and the surviving heroes will bear a mark of some sort

** i know, its basically just a revamped kain helm but quiet, you.

This new character system seems better than old one, which was already better than FFXI.

But what i really want to see, is gameplay / crafting / batle system / etc. That's what makes people wanna play a MMO !!
