IMO I'd ignore crafting and gathering as those should be better (whether the XP is easier or less painfull or both we dunno yet). I'd also ignore leveling anything else to 50 if you have one job there since it seems we'll be moving more towards quest based leveling and it would suck to go through a bunch of quests and not have any char's to benefit from the XP only to have a new class dropped at some point and wish you'd used the quest XP better.
There's almost 0 chance of getting any of the Imperial or Atomos stuff done now unless you can form dedicated pseudo alliances, which likely won't happen because everyone else is pumping out items on their crafts to mitigate the upcoming gil drop pandemic...
I'd do the quests listed as dissapearing. Not for the achievements, but for the quests' stories which may or may not be pertinant in AAR.
I'd jump on some primal stuff or any of the Grand Company quests as people seem to still be doing those alot.
And IF you have the gil to speculate, try to think of an item that won't drop in price too quickly after AAR comes out. Me personally I think I figured out what item won't decrease much in cost and is high demand... and it's tasty.
