Help an idiot newbie out, please. My head is about to explode.

I just got this game, and registered an account and said game at http://eu.square-enix.com as instructed in the manual.
I log in to the site with my email, and from settings I can choose "a nickname" but there's no mention of any Square Enix ID". When I try to log in to the game, I get a message "either the ID or password is wrong". So off I go to Google and find out it might be that I don't even have "Square Enix ID" although I have a Square-enix.com account and registered game there.

So, the next problem: just HOW do I get this ID??
I can't contact Support because I don't have the ID or a set security question - the site registration did not include setting a security question.
I found a guide to this (http://na.square-enix.com/announcement/go/article/view/blog/258303/new_square_enix_id_registration_system) but the images are missing and I don't find a button to click to create an ID.

The strange thing is registration process at http://eu.square-enix.com did not ask me to create an id, only my email and date of birth. And after that I could and can log in but couldn't find info about this ID or where to get one on the Members site.

BUT I did find this another url (square-enix.com -something, but not eu.square.-enix.com), where I actually managed to create a new ID. So now I have Square Enix ID! (wish I could use it)
I also have a new problem: I try to log in to the game and get an error message about not having an active service account. When I try to create a service account, it asks me for the game code, but my code is different from required.
My code : xxxxxx-123-xxxxxx-123 (6 letters, 3 numbers etc)
Asking for: xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx (5 sets of 4 digits)

I already registered my game though, at the http://eu.square-enix.com site. (the 6-3-6-3 type of code worked there)
Any ideas what to try next?

and click on the link that is located second to last on the left hand side of the screen titled "Square Enix Account Information." It is under the "Rules & Policies" link which is farther down from the "Legacy" and FFXIV 2.0" links at the top of the page when you first log in.

Not to call people out but there is a problem with people stealing accounts so I would try to get to the lodestone site on your own through Google or something and then do what I said. I don't trust links to logging/accessing/creating new accounts/information on forums or from random people. Just the world we live in. Be sure you are on the real site is all. His link is legit from what I can tell but I am paranoid. Sorry if I'm offending you, Marsupialboy.

I hope you get everything figured out and can enjoy the improved FFXIV 1.0 and stick around for the new 2.0.

Only thing I can think of is that may not be the correct code to register the game at the SE account management site. Your code looks to be on a seperate insert, the one I had was on the back page of the manual. The code in your photo looks to be one to input at the other square enix site , that gives you points for every SE game you buy.
