So I used to post on this forum all the time when the game made it's initial $79.99 collectors edition Final Fantasy XIV alpha test release.... yes indeed, the first collectors edition alpha test release.
Now that 2.0 is about to be released I am pumped yet again... ohh SE, how the success you enjoyed in the late 90s early 2000s has forever endeared me to thee. In spite of the perpetual crap you release of late, I still find myself giddy like a school girl every time you make sweet promises.
But in all seriousness, I am very excited for the 2.0 release and I hope upon hope that they make a game I can enjoy just like I enjoyed FFXI. Perhaps it was just because it was the first MMO I ever played, however every accomplishment in XI felt like I truly did something worth while (obviously it wasn't worth while, it's a video game.) That feeling none-the-less kept me coming back for more.
On the other hand, in XIV when I reached lv 50 fishing in I felt nothing. There was nothing else to do, no one to sell my hard work to, nothing... just nothing.
That sentiment was systemic throughout the game. Achievements were really something much less. This my friends, is what I am hoping will be fixed in 2.0.
