Ok. You're not NPCing your loot, are you?

Some stuff is ok to NPC (that's how I got by) but others you can make a good deal more in the markets. As you're stationed in Ul'dah it should be easy to just check in occasionally and keep your Retainer up to stock.

Also, some clarifications here.

'Warriors' Don't use swords, Gladiators do.
'Warrior' is also a job, you're probably referring to Marauder, as Gladiator's first NPC sword upgrade is level 13.

The 4 k item is a fair price range. Leves starter level do 140-240 per leve not including difficulty bonus, and straight gil from chest. The remainder of your income comes form mob loot and crystals which you can market or NPC for sufficient income.

Don't worry about being overleveled in your gear for grinding. Buy upgrades when you can and be sure you're selling the stuff you're getting that you're not using immediately. (Don't worry, you'll get plenty of crystals and shards, right now, you need raw currency.) When you get bored of leves, look for local quests or storyline quests to complete.

But make no mistake, that little two-level trip killing monsters instead of doing leves, hurt your income, especially if you're not selling loot.

Item information, monster location map. Whole bunch of goodies on that site. I mention it because of its map feature for you. If you like hunting down monsters, you can track locations of monsters with loot that is profitable (You'll have to look in your Market Wards). Then track down and kill some. Warning though, usually the most lucrative monsters tend to have competition. Though, as a Marauder you should be able to hold your own.

Aegis is the official server reddit uses mostly.

BTW: There are 2 upgrades to gladiator wepons before level 13, bronze gladius lvl 8 and a dagger lvl 8-9.

started playing as pug. Think I'm level 5 now. I really dont have any problems with the game yet. It seemed clunky at first but then I pulled out my usb keyboard and its fine. Things do seem to be a little slow at times, but maybe I just need to get used to it. Also, I'm not sure what to do with my random stuff? Im focusing on pug, leather, and mining. Not really sure if I should put any of the mob items i get on a retainer and what the going rates are. I started in that pirate town and i've done.... 7 leves already. 2 of which were for leather. It seems like gold will be hard to come by for now. Is the whole game basically doing leves when you have them available and then griding mobs/ working on main questline to get to 50? If thats the case I'm fine with it, just wasn't sure. Also, are there NM's in this game like FFXI that drop decent gear ex - leaping lizzy stinging sophie etc.. for lower lvs?

Just saying that you shouldn't try to talk people out of a game that you haven't played for a long time. It's the same reason I'm not on the Tera forums speaking with authority. Because I have no knowledge to share.

Good point Filth. Tera, in it's two months, is doing what all mmos do in the first two months.

Man, 1 point sure makes a difference. I'm sure you'll have people to play with next month when everyone quits.

One point is not a huge difference at face value, but if you compare both games, you will see that FFXIV does not even deserve a 5.5.

FFXIV at release was a total desaster in all aspects, market ward crashes, server crashes, TONS of server lag, lack of content, dodos till 50, no dungeons, no raids, no nothing. Hell SE shipped 630k copies, and i dont think they sold half that, because a month later you had 50k people playing..... A MONTH AFTER FREE TRIAL! 50k! Then after that 2 years later you have what ? 20K tops ? Yeah! Tera is not Swotor or rift or WOW! But they are not FFXIV Either.

P.S.: Yoshi may actually be the savior this game needs. But he`s unlikely to
succeed on a large scale that supports a reasonably sized playerbase unless
all those brainless, stasis-loving willing-to-pay-no-matter-what faggot fanboys
die in a fire, die in a fire again, and finally die in a fire for the third time. Those
guys are the very reason for why SE thought they could get away with such a
complete mess in the first place.
