They aren't making anyone pay more that was the set standard fee from the beginning and always has been. They are simply rewarding the people who are paying now for what is considered to be an inferior product by reducing their fees.
This. You aren't "paying more" for the game, you're paying what the original fee is going to be. Those of us who are tossing in our dollars now will probably still end up paying as much as you do until some point years down the road, think of it as getting our money back for playing the game while they get things fixed.
