And yes archer can be expensive but money is quite easy to make.
Thank you samosamo for correcting me. I posted this from my phone at work and didn't have the patience to find the info using my phone.
When it comes to making money, at this point doing levs will get you enough gil to purchase what you need. I'd suggest using warped arrows for anything that's not end game content. They cost only 2 gil each and they can be purchased from many NPC's located in each city. Archer/Bard are only expensive when it comes to purchasing cobalt arrows for end game content. On Gungnir, a stack of cobalt arrows can range from 37k-61k a stack depending on ward prices. If you are looking to use archer/bard as a main in the future for end game content, I'd suggest leveling carpentry, blacksmithing, botany, and mining. They will all eventually allow you to repair your weapon and craft your own arrows. This will save you loads of gil in the long run. Botany and mining is mainly so you can gather your own materials/shards for crafting.
EDIT: Also, I forgot to add that the things you gather, you can sell in the wards. You may not make much money selling thing you gather until very high levels, but it's a little something to add to your lev income. I tend to NPC items I gather unless its a hot item right after the patches. You'd be surprised how fast the gil adds up if you NPC the items you gather.
