Firstly this has nothing to do with FFXIV other than a free method to pass the time if you're in between MMO's.
Any way I was looking for an old MMO I played back in the early 90's and stumbled across a site that brought the entire community back on-line. So in a sense here's 3 free (but by free I mean 100% free, you couldn't buy anything if you wanted to) MMORPGs.
I never played the Ruins of Crawdor, but Shadows of Yserbius and Fates of Twinion are both fun romps in their own rights. The server can handle about 60 people at a time and I believe you can have a party of 6. Also in INN (ImagiNation Network, wiki it if you like) there are a few other free games as well. Boogers is an excellent Reversi type game.
Here's the link
Ok never mind it won't let me link the source site, any way search Google for innrevivial
For DOSBox I prefer
http://members.quicknet.nl/blankendaalr/dbgl/ version .65 and then click whatever OS you're using, it comes with DOSBox already configured you just need to follow the instructions on the first link.
Any way I hope this isn't violating any rules here since it's free and a community opensource type project. It's killed a few hours of my time already and maybe it's just the nostalgia, but even semi-empty the experiance is just as rewarding. Beware though, it's not easy, and even though there is a cheat program out there... it's much more fun if you don't use it.
*EDIT* I found a much more user friendly link, note that it does come with multiple cheats for the game, please don't use them your first time through.
