Insight Into Mob/Boss DevelopmentFollow

This has no direct connection in ffxiv, but there was a new interview that came out that lets you see what SE was thinking when creating a few bosses for ffxi. There might not be any direct connection between the interview and ffxiv, but i'm assuming some of the same people will be making some bosses for ffxiv, so in a small way it could be relevant. This is just a very interesting read...

So just a few thngs I found interesting:

1. They take pride in how a boss they create is/if beaten, and they take pride when players beat it the "right way".

2. They was still making extremely long bosses (18 hour Pandemonium Warden before it was changed), and that it was intended. This just show me even this far into ffxi, they like the hardcore nature of it. No i'm not saying ffxiv will be this hardcore, but I'm just saying that they love the hardcore nature of bosses still this deep into ffxi.

3. When they test new bosses, they test it with testers that have the best gear in the game (they said relics and stuff). Also interesting how they tell one group the secrets and weaknesses and how to beat it and doesn't tell one group. Then they see how many times and with how many people it takes to beat the mob. Many people say this is retarded assuming people have relics and stuff, but I kind of like bosses to be bad ***. Maybe not like Av even tho he has been defeated, but pandemonium warden has also been defeated, so I like an extremely difficult boss, but not impossible.

There many other things interesting, but don't want to name them all, i'll be here all day long.
