The community is almost identicial to FFXI in it's makeup. The problem is, there are simply too many universal channels to speak through, allowing the trolls to sorta gravitate towards each other into some sorta superdense trolling entity. Like a trolling black hole, except unfortunately, the trolling escapes it. Just mute universal channels, and voila.
I guess you aren't a fan of American action cartoons and comic art? To each their own, it's just another art style. I'm not a huge fan of the art genre either. But I recognize it's merits, and the very high skill level that Blizzard's artists have that rival the best in the field of videogame art.
I'm confused how you can say it has ugly graphics though; the graphics in WoW utterly destroy FFXI's graphics (albiet on the cartoony side, not on the realistic side). More of an age issue as opposed to an artist skill issue though.
And it's a good thing that Blizzard doesn't use a point and click interface; it uses a hotkey interface! Isn't misrepresentation awesome?
EDIT: This is what really annoys me. People who insult a game based on aspects that aren't even a part of the game. If you hate a game, that's fine. There are lots of legitimate critisisms of Wow, and I've seen some people say legitimate complaints. But most of the time, people are bitching about WoW doing exactly what it's supposed to do.
