According to Amazon.com, Final Fantasy XIII will be released on December 31, 2010. Is that right?

No FFXII will not be released on Dec31st 2010, that would be like the worst day to release a game, right after Xmas.
Amazon just knows the game will be in 2010 but dont have a day so they listed the last day of the year.

No, that's just a conservative date so they don't have to deal with push backs and what-not. SE has stated that FFXIII will definitely be coming out before FFXIV, and that FFXIII should be seeing a spring-ish (2010) release.

And then if were lucky maybe well get to play FFXIV around the time WoTG came out Novemberish 2010? but we all know that's EXTREMELY "wishful thinking" I wouldnt know what to do with myself if SE didnt make me wait at least 2 yrs after they announced a release.

FFXIII will be released in the Spring of 2010, which is most likely April.
FFXIV should be out after that. I can't imagine them releasing them too closely together, though. SE has never been too keen on releasing their big IP releases too closely together. I am anticipating at least a few months between the two releases.
My hope/projection is that XIV will be released around September '10. This is enough time after XIII's release so it doesn't steal any thunder. It's also late enough in the year that if they decide to delay the release any later (say Nov or Dec), I won't be too upset.
I have a very strong feeling that anyone hoping for a XIV release any time before Fall '10 will be terribly disappointed in a year or so.

Yeh, I see Amazon.com has done the same thing for Dante's Inferno...another game I cannot wait to get my hands on. I am expecting a September-November, 2010 release for FFXIV, anyways. Like I said, I am sorry if I caused anyone's feathers to be ruffled. Salute!

The official , non- official release date for FFXIV, FFXIII, and FFXIIIvs is 1st quater 2010. The dates will most likely be changed but I think it would be a big mistake to release them all so close. Ideally the should space them at least 6 months apart. I want to play all of them but as soon as FFXIV comes out, that will be the only game I play.

One thing is for sure: they sure are busy over there at SE. With all these games among others they are developing, 2010 may be a banner year for them - and us.
I actually had Gamestop print a list of release dates for PS3 games for me, and FFXIII was listed as coming out in July 2010, so I preordered it.
