As we all know, the 12/14/2009 update majorly changed many aspects of the game, and with it invalidated several things in our wiki. Today I finished updating (hopefully) all applicable templates to allow inclusion of the appropriate information.

Weapons: The FR Item template has had the attack stat removed. In its place is an abilities field instead, which is a comma list. So you could do abilities=Incision,Triage. I did not include a field for damages since things are still likely to change at this point. Example of a weapon using the new changes: Crystal Hammer.

Stats: Some stats were removed or replaced in the game. All matcher's and maker's stats were removed, as well as attack. In place of the matcher's and maker's stats, Talent and Timing were added in. The FR Item template will now recognize these two new stats and no longer display any of the obsolete ones. Example of an item using the new stats: Turkey Leg.

Difficulty Ratings: The former Easy, Medium and Hard difficulty ratings were replaced, instead becoming Tier 1 through Tier 5. Any battles, minigames or mobs that look for difficulty will now accept the following:
  • 1 or Tier 1
  • 2 or Tier 2
  • 3 or Tier 3
  • 4 or Tier 4
  • 5 or Tier 5
The correct graphic will display when these settings are used for the difficulty field. It is also backwards compatible with the old ratings, but many of those have changed in game.

Prize Wheel: A prize wheel has been added to the end of any minigame or battle. When you win the game, you spin a wheel. In recognition of this addition, I have created a FR Prizes template. This template can be added to any page that needs it! It will accept job names (or Freestyle if no specific job), a comma list for items, and a comma list for genders if applicable. Example of a battle page using this new template: Crafty Robgoblins!.

Power/Flair Shards: The old shard system was done over, and now there are simply Power Shards and Flair Shards. The FR Item template has been changed to accept this. Any existing wiki entries for Triangle/Square Shards will appear as Power Shards, and any existing wiki entries for Diamond/Flair Shards will appear as Flair Shards.

Rings/Necklaces: These items were changed to share a single slot called Jewelry. The FR Item template has been changed to accept this. Like the shards, it is also backwards compatible, so older entries will not need modified to reflect this change.

Battle Bonuses: To the best of our knowledge, all bonuses were removed from battles. To reflect this, we have changed them to no longer display these fields.

Job Traits: Jobs now have traits instead of abilities. We created a new template for this. Calthine already entered in all the new data and removed the obsolete information. :)

Item Races: The following races have been added to items: Pets (this means all pets for items such as food bowls, shampoo, etc), Reindeer, Unicorns, Dragons, Pegasus, Triceratops, T-Rex, Ponies. Previous additions had been Cats and Dogs a couple of months ago. The race field will accept singular or plural versions of the race name, if applicable.

Minigame Namespace: We finally got our FR Minigame namespace! That means any minigame wiki page created will start with FR Minigame:Page Name instead of the old Page Name (FR Minigame). However, due to this change, it's possible that many red links popped up on minigame, place, mob or quest pages! If you see an occurance of a minigame red link, feel free to fix it. The easiest way is by using our frgame template linker (ex: [ [ Page Name (FR Minigame) ] ] ... spaces added to prevent posting issues ... would become {{frgame|Page Name}}).

If you feel that I have forgotten anything from the update that was changed, or have any questions or comments about these changes, please feel free to either reply to this post or to send me a private message! We've had a lot of fantastic contributions since the update, and I really appreciate it all. Thank you! :)

A couple more changes were made!

For items, you can now use the passive= field to display passive effects, such as health regeneration. An item using this new field: Pulsing Ethereal Triangle Shard

For item tints/colors, Bludwyng has done some magic and allowed for an indefinite number of colors to be added to the tints= field on the items (previous restriction was 9 colors). This works great with the new item dyes, which so far number up to 14 different colors! An item using 14 colors from the dyes: Toy Soldier Outfit

To prize wheel, or not to prize wheel....

The following has been added to the FR Battle and FR Minigame templates:
|prizewheel=

A flag of "y" (yes) will remove that wiki page from the no prize wheel categories (ex: |prizewheel=y). The Crafty Robgoblins battle has examples of this flag being used in the battle template plus the prize wheel itself.

Need to know what doesn't have prize wheels, still? There's a page for that!

Battles Without a Prize Wheel

Treasure Tickets have been removed from the FR Coin template to reflect their upcoming removal from the game. Any previous or future uses referring to tickets will just ignore that flag.

All references to the Royal Vault has been removed from the FR Item template. This is due to the upcoming royal vault changes; it may be re-added once we find out what exactly the changes entail.

All references to coin cost and coin value has been removed from the FR Item template. This is due to the constant fluctuation in price--more for my sanity than necessity. :) Station Cash price values still remain in the template!
