I recently tried to subscribe membership on Free Realms and Credit Card was DENIED.
NOW WHY IS MY CREDIT CARD CHARGED THREE TIMES!!!! FOR THE SUBSCRIPTION AMOUNT!!
This is the same card that is accepted by every other place (Visa)
Then you have the gall to charge that same Credit Card for it

Is this using a prezzy or loaded visa card? I tried aswell and I got some thing about not able to be processed, then got charged 9 dollars on both my cards... Sucks to be a New Zealander much?

Yeah, well, im having the same problem. Both my cards are of the NZpost sort and it wont process my membership, even though payment is willing and pending. Im out $27 bucks aswell
You act like they are the only company that ever accidentally double charges due to registration server issues.

One. I dont mind as much about a double charge when I actually get what I paid for, that why I can enjoy what I paid for and contact them in my own time.
Two. To contact Customer Service I have to make a toll call too the other side of the world. That would probably cost me more than the double charge.

If I were you I would contact your credit card company as soon as possible and dispute the charges.

Online customer support told me to send them an email or contact a Referee ingame.
I sent an email to SoE Accounts support about 4 hours ago, I put an ingame ticket yesterday and have yet to get any kind of response.
And I'll say it again. A toll call to America will cost me more than its worth.

Okay, a few things here because posts like this really really really irritate me.
Be calm, and use common sense, firstly.
Get in contact with the online support area.
Make a post in FR forums as well (if you can)
Advise them that if you call them, they will be paying you for the cost of doing so, if they aren't able to sort this out online.
Save the page of your statement, via printscreen, remove identifying marks (the last 4 digits of the cc would be all they need) and send that to them as well.
Wait. These people have lives, and office hours, and due to launch, probably an absolute TRUCKLOAD of things to work on. Take a chill pill, they will sort it out eventually.

P.s. there are a number of $5 calling cards which give you 5c a minute to US from NZ - you could purchase any of those, and make a call, which considering you've spent like $24 anyway, would be worth it.

I'll check the forums and post in there about this too. If this is something that's happening to a lot of NZ folks, then this may be something that SOE can't deal with. If that's the case then we may need to suggest that they look into alternate forms of payment. It would really benefit them as much as anyone else.
Out of curiosity, did either of you try getting station cash with the cards? I didn't purchase my membership directly with my credit card. I actually purchases station cash and then purchased my membership via station cash in game.
I'm wondering if the credit card companies have put a hold on the transactions for fear of internet fraud (because Free Realms is so new). Station cash though is used in a few other games and has been around a lot longer so transactions for station cash may not be flagged for review as possibly fraudulent transactions.

Feel free to PM myself, Arapawa, or Amaranth any time and we can help you out, either through the forums or by starting you a ticket. You can put in a support ticket yourself by going here, logging in, and clicking "Ask For Help". You can email support@station.sony.com directly, but we will always respond faster when the ticket is entered through the support system (Link). That email address is a general hopper without categories, so it takes longer to get routed to the right people.

Thanks a bunch Ivy. Anyway, I have since received a reply via email and apparently I, and probably the original poster, put in the wrong Zip Code (postcode for us) and thus it failed a security check.
I'm currently trying to obtain the correct zip code, just cant get it right this minute.
And for any other NZ customers you might want to steer clear of trying to pay for free realms membership with Prezzy or Loaded NZPost cards.

also if you see a charge for $1.00 USD that is typically a temporary hold funds verification that should fall off within 24 hours.
Gift cards can often be wonky - I remember at Travelocity having similar issues with clients trying to use giftcards on the site. :/

but for being a free game, it really is quite enjoyable. I've actually been considering leaving WoW for this because with our 2nd baby coming in AUgust (we have an almost 9 month old now) plus college, I don't think I'd have the time for a game like WoW :(
