What MODS should I use?

Initially I refused to even look at mods because I wanted to play the game via stock UI but right now I'm losing out on a lot of healing potential by not using Squared (I know, just because everyone else takes steroids doesn't mean I should too.).

What addons do you use, what are ones that interest you but you haven't tried out yet? I'm looking for testimonials here.

Squared, obviously.

SquaredHotIndicators as well.

bettercc for cooldown count on the action bars.

Duff Timer is my buff tracker of choice though theres several others.

Buff Throttle to help game performance.

Moth for mouse-over tooltips at the mouse cursor.

BlackBox for removing/minimizing the ressing screen in scenarios.

TargetOnButtonDown. Since War doesn't target until you let go of the button. This fixes that.

TargetRing helps to let you know where your target is. Makes it very obvious as opposed to haveing to look at the circle ring at your feet.

WhatTheDebuff. This is the one that does "You have Gork seyz stop. Stop moving!" among other things. "Player X has Playing with Fire! Stop healing."

AbilityAlert. A cooldown alerter.

ReActionBarColor. Colors the bars red for range. Etc.

EnemyTargetClass. Compared your targets name to the Scen stat window to get their class.

TargetLast for "sticky" targeting. No more clicking the game world will make you lose your target.

thinkoutloud. Can do a /say for when resing or detaunting and pray someone saves your ass.

Trakario. Keep track of who has the thing. You know. The thing!

WBAdmin and ISAssistTracker would be useful in a organized setting. ISAssist can do "Lucky Charms" (WoW Raid icons) now. WBAdmin is /raidwarning type messages from WoW. Give a big message to your warband across the middle of their screen. Obviously everyone needs both these though.

Thats just combat. Theres tons of little UI improvements ones as well. Mostly Aiiane's.

Sigh. I hate addons simply because you never get just one.

Rate-up for the list and thanks. I'll go through them and see what happens and see what works.

Well. I personally have 83 AddOns on my folder. So I gave you a rather small list. Granted a few of them are Librarys like LibSlash.

Yeah I won't be playing with 83. Wow that's a lot :). I think I played with 8 in WoW, although during one stretch I was up to 40 something until the LUA 2.0 or whatever broke most of them.

I'm disappointed that the stock UI is so far behind some of the other interfaces. Maybe targeting is getting fixed in the patch and will solve some of it.

I also won't be using any of the debuff addons as I'm tired of the UI telling me "Stop you have a killer debuff on you." More of a philosophical issue. If I'm to invested in something else not to notice Playing With Fire on someone then I deserve to die.

Anyone else have any? Ultimately I love to look at them all and play with them and then narrow it down the the handful that I can't live without. Thanks again.

As a shaman, there is a heal mod that is just like Clique from WoW. You can set up your heals and just click on the person in your party or warband using squared.

I use it and LOVE it...

ISHealBot is the click-casting mod. Its not quite up to par with Clique. Can't bind anything other than the left mouse button with modifiers to cast. Mythic doesn't let mods do that apparently.

Yep that is it. I use my left click for my HoT, shift/Lclick for fast heal, and ctrl/Lclick for slow heal.

its great

I'm fundamentally opposed to add-ons. They are the blood doping of the mmo world (hacks would be steroids) if you will.

The "good ones that everyone uses" should just be implemented in the game if they really are that good. Right now WAR has missed the boat on some functionality so I understand the lure of using them. The actual act of trying to heal is frustrating (almost broken) in the game at the moment for example.

Hopefully Mythic makes the appropriate changes players really do need and breaks all add-ons since the rest (the non-implemented ideas) would be contrary to the spirit of the game as intended by the developers.

Beat me with the same deck of cards, a deck Mythic stands behind as being responsible for.

----

If that sounds to harsh, the simple translation is: I think add-ons are cheesy and should never be necessary.

And just to be ironic (to the post above), I rated Ikaridono up for providing such a comprehensive list.

Scrolling Combat Text and the Waarghbar 2 are very handy, as well. Influence Text is good.

I have about 20-25 addons. I really don't know what Mythic was thinking. They should have looked at what WoW addons were popular, and built them into the default UI. Granted, they did do some of this, like a much better quest tracker, but there are tons of things that the community instantly fixed to be more useful.
