Ha! Just noticed this today on the Herald today:

10,578 Banned for Selling Gold

Sounds like a pretty impressive number and I've REALLY seen a reduction in the number of goldselling spam tells.

Kudos to Mythic!

Yeah, I was surprised to see a spammer this morning, Most of the weekend was very quiet from Gold spammers. Easier to get rid of them if you don't give away 14 day trial accounts.

Seems they have found a way to get part of their message past the blocker. I see spammers rarely and when I do its normally gold, $5 you buy www.blahblahblah.com

Congrats to Mythic for taking such a strong stance against this sort of poor business practice. I too have seen less advertisements and spam in-game, woot!

Banhammer indeed. One of my must-have add ons has been SpamMeNot, which has always had an auto-report function as well. My highest per day spam has been around 100 spams, every one blocked from my chat window, every one reported. More recently I've only had around 1 to 5 a day, so yes the Banhammer is falling hard, and I'm loving it!
