Dear Tank,
thank you for purchasing one of our Heals. Be assured that your Heal is being processed and should be despatched to you within the next 3 seconds.
Though we invite feedback to our customer sevices department, simply phoning them and saying heal, HEAL or H E A L will not process your order any faster. Also we would like to know what HEAK means

We regret to inform you that due to high volumes your Heal may be slightly delayed. There are several reasons for this.

1 If you are a resident of the Channel islands, just joined a scenario or are simply more than 100ft away please allow up to 4 extra days for delivery.

2 You may be further down our priority queue. Please note that priority is given to the following.
Nurses,small children,hamsters,DPS classes which have decided not to let you have any agro time and are now also tanking despite having no armor, that shaman next to you who has decided to pull an extra Champion into an already overcrowded melee, people supplying me with Haribou sweets

3 As you may have seen in the news we are experiencing a few union problems. Currently our Disciple of Khaine branch has gone on strike and will only be healing themselves and even then not all of the time.

4 Our despatch department has trouble locating you. Our research shows that this seems to be because of some Tank bladder problems as you constantly seem to be running in houses, behind houses or behind trees. Should symptoms persist for more than 2 days you should seek medical assistance.

5 You may already be getting healed. You may notice from time to time that green bar above your head gets some extra icons next to it and the green bar itself slowly gets bigger between hits. These are known as HOTS or heals over time. Though we appreciate you may have wanted to see this bar drop to 20% then back to 100% we feel that keeping it 75% is adequate.

6 You are not in the same party as us. Despite several requests for an invite we see that you have chosen our "Steal all the loot" option. Although we will be receiving regular Influence our insurance company informs us that we are not liable for any injury sustained while you charge recklessly around Public Quests.

7 We ourselves may be tanking. While we appreciate that Tanking may not be our job we have recently found that simply staring harshly at npcs as you run past them causes them to run over and beat the snot out of us. We would suggest that a better way to maintain agro would be to hit them several times though you may find that "tanking" shaman you are with may perform this duty for you. Also shouting HEAL at them may also make them angry.

8 Sometimes we make mistakes. It happens, rez then go kill some Order :)

LOL! As someone who has been a tank and been a healer, this post made me laugh. Very well done!

As a tank, I am grateful for the heals when I get them, say so when there is a moment to type, but don't cry or piss about it if I don't get healed either. After all, who is to say why I'm not getting healed? They may be dead, busy, too far away, out of mana or "heal juice" in the case of DoK's, etc.

As a healer, it seriously cheeses me off when someone assumes that "none of the healers are healing!" when I know bloody well I'm pumping them out as fast as I can. So tankies, we healers love ya but sometimes we simply can't heal ya for any of the above reasons. We want to, but we can't be everywhere at once or cover all the tanks and DPS and ourselves (especially when as sometimes happen, there aren't too many of us around in that particular run).

Snowblast, if your healers aren't taking damage and you're up front fighting alongside a DPS class, using Guard on him will increase his survivability as well as help the healer stay on top.

Why Guard someone who isn't taking damage?

Otherwise, yeah, I agree. Keeping the healer alive is a good idea. My Disciple can't heal when she's waiting for the respawn.

Thank you Nightlife, put any healer in place of the word zealot and you've got it right (I heal on Order). The only Swordmaster that has guarded me in 22 levels is a guildmate.

On our server the Ironbreakers have been rare above level 11 and Swordmasters like to use the swords and pretend DPS in scenarios. This lack of tank presence (if they don't play as a tank, they aren't a tank) end up in all the range dps ringing Destruction and getting picked off quickly.

Most PuG roam far from the healers (and Order has lots of archmages and warrior priests generally). I love it when people whine about no heals. The other day I got to point out that the rune priest that wasn't healing (not me) was topping the heal chart by 30k over the next guy and maybe we should support him rather than leaving him standing alone on the battlefield.

In general terms Destro is way more organized on our server especially in PuG situations. I recently rolled a witch hunter and Shadow warrior to test this out in tier 1 scenarios. I focused entirely on griefing whatever healer I could find. Almost without exception I would have 2-5 destruction on me --at times the fleeing healer would run far from the objectives and they would all follow me following him/her. This was as a level 2-6, so basically they can outheal me handily if I am not being assisted in dropping them. I am looking forward to levels 9-11 though.

If I was to run on my archmage in a PuG... I'd die.

My favourite thing is Order mindlessly attacking orc tanks and ignoring the goblin (zealot, DoK) standing in range behind them.

Brilliant post. Expresses my Rune Priest-y frustrations quite well :). My heal priority for RVR generally goes: Myself > Healers > Melee DPS > Range DPS > Tanks. Tanks are last, but only because they generally need much less healing than the others. My conception of the way that RvR should ideally go is to have the Tanks protecting the Healers, who are healing the DPS, who are killing the enemies. :hums the circle of life:

LOL you guys are great. I played FFXI when it first came out and was a White Mage. Healing was the only thing I did, and it was so boring. It was a long time ago, but all I remember is getting my feelings hurt when someone in my party (that took 4 hours just to form) would blame me for not healing them as fast as they would be hit. Or be yelled at because I would grab hate... Luckily that has not happened yet, probably because Im the archmage and my husband is the swordmaster. :) but Im curious how this class will "evolve" through the levels. Im loving that Searing touch move, and alot of my drain type moves, but will I have to give those up later to prevent getting hate? I like feeling like I am doing SOME damage. I can take "challenging" solo, barely :P If you guys have pointers on how to be the best at my job, send em over :)

Very funny. I know exactly how you feel. As a tank myself I really hate it when other tanks are screaming their lungs out for heals. I noticed that if you just keep the agro of the squishes you get healed most of the times.

Although not always. Not to generalize, but I've often found myself protecting a DoK and not getting healed. Kinda ticks me off, but hey, I'm a tank who sometimes grabs too much agro, so I'm used to dying. And this time I have the satisfaction of knowing that the stubborn DoK that didn't wanted to heal me will soon join me on a trip to the healer.
