If Your Class was of a Different Race, Would you Play It?Follow

I have heard a lot of posters on this board talking about a class they have found that they really love and I'm just curious about something:

If that class was exclusive to your least favorite race, especially of the opposite faction, would you still play it? (And if there isn't a race that you hate, imagine one. Would you still like your class if it looked like a ball of slime? Like your high school math teacher? Like Miley Cyrus' face).

Say you LOVE the way the Chosen plays and HATE the Dwarves. If the Chosen class belonged to the Dwarves, would you roll one just to play it?

(Note: I'm not talking about lore here, just solid gameplay).

I'm just curious if anyone has found a class who's dynamic they love so much that they don't care about anything else in the equation. In all other MMOs I have played, this wasn't an issue. Most classes in WoW had decent diversity (except for Druid) and any race could play any Job in FFXI.

Just how important is the look of your toon to you?

It's odd but this is the only game where Lore/Race made my choice over anything else. I would be a goblin even if their Career's only had auto-attack.

More goblin choices would have swayed me to concentrate there first. One of the main reasons I ended up Order with RL friends was that I had avoided good elves in past mmos, so at least there is some newness in it for me.

I'd be inclined to try a bright wizard if I could roll it as a dwarf or either Greenskin.

My alt project Zealot was about the only non-goblin that interested me at all right now.

I would play it, but it wouldn't be my duo-main. I would have chosen another class to be if the one I chose wasn't available for the race my friend and I decided upon.

But then this decision is made easier for the sole reason that I haven't played many classes, and nothing really shoots out at me as my absolute favourite yet (even my duo-main).

personally I don't play certain classes cause I don;t like the way the race looks. I love the idea of an ironbreaker, I just hate the way GW Dwarves look. If the Empire had an Ironbreaker (an no the KotBZ is not going to be the same) I would play it.

Destro does not an an ironbreaker equivelent, that class in not in game yet, and Dark Elves look OK. Now give me a Chosen of Khorne and I'm all over that like white on rice, on a paper plate, in a snow storm, with a glass of milk

I'd play a dwarf, but the females look...strange.

I love Dwarves, always have always will. That being said I sometimes don't play them in games because I feel they haven't been done well. In WAR I love the Dwarfs, so no, I would't play my class if it was another race (and with the system they have in WAR the opposite realm often does have a version of the class eg BO=SM).

I'm glad there can't be male Witch Elves. They are Brides of Khaine. Female dark elves are trained in the cult of Khaine as Witch Elves, males are trained as assassins. Lore is not something that can be crapped on a whim unlike Warcraft and I'm glad WAR has made as few changes to lore that was made (White Lions with a pet for one was one I'm still miffed with).

As for class being a different race, it wouldn't be Warhammer if Chaos had Swordmasters and if Bright Wizards didn't have the firey hair they have.

yes well, technically chaos could have swordmasters, since Chaos is the coruptor of all things. It's not unreasonable (though it would be rare indeed) for an Elven Swormaster to turn to Chaos. As for Bright Wizzards, I kinda would like to more of the 12 collages of magic represented, but then each race would need an expanding upon to abllance it out.

It was a quick example that I came up with. I don't see swordmasters going to Chaos since they are well disciplined especially since they fight the Cult of Pleasure in a secret war.

And 12 colleges of magic? There's only 8, one for each wind of magic. I just used Bright Wizards as an example since I've heard people not like the fiery hair without knowing why their hair is fiery looking in the first place. But I agree with wanting to see the other 7 colleges of magic at least in some form. If not playable, at least get to visit and explore them.

I would definatly play a swordmaster or a shadow hunter (or however they're called, they're the ones with the bows) if they weren't elves. I just don't like elves, never have, probably neverwill.

Funny thing is I never liked to play a tank or a human in and mmo. Now my favorite classes are the Witchhunter and the Black Orc.

Also on a final note, if humans could play as Black Orc's, how would they be called?

As a destruction player I have killed Grey wizards and such in a PQ. That was nice and I liked the reference to the lore.

Back on topic (sorta) I have to play Tzeentch... because I have a fantasy army of Tzeentch in the table top. With that said....If I could play a chaos equivalent of a DoK... like a Tzeentchian torture master or something (make up a name)I would be all over that. A chaos marauder looking guy that steals souls and heals some...yum. Just the DoK mechanics with a chaos skin. For now though, I am really enjoying a marauder, magus and zealot.
