At launch, which side will be more populated?
Destruction :19 (70.4%)
Order:6 (22.2%)
It'll be a near 50/50 split :2 (7.4%)
Total:27

I'm curious to see everyone's thoughts on this.
I think it's going to lean heavy towards Destruction.

People seem to like dem greenskins. My opinion anyway. Plus, I'm going destruction so I tend to notice that more, and my perception might be skewed because of that fact.

If you were to read most online forums it would appear to be Destruction, but I'm confident Order will ultimate be more populated. Forum goers are a completely separate demographic from the mainstream market.

I'd guess order. Everyone thought Horde would be the top faction in WoW during beta too. Boils down to how many disgruntled ex-WoW alliance players convert.

My concern is not being one side or the other (though our group had planned to go destruction after doing alliance in WoW and Albion in DAoC), but if Destruction has 25 minute queue timers for scenarios, you can bet we'll be switching sides.

We just want to have fun and compete. Rolling the other side is never fun, unless they sometimes roll you back ;o

Yeah, I'm definitely not going to wait around for that. I suspect it'll be near 50/50... just like elections.

I'm thinking Destruction most likely based off of what I seen during preview weekend and based on what I feel will happen.

I know a lot of people are comparing this to WoW, which I don't think is the best comparison for populations. At launch for WoW you could be the side with Elves, humans, gnomes, and dwarves, or roll on the side with orcs (that are pretty lame in some regard), trolls, corpses, or giant cows. Now look at the armies of WAR and you see Humans on both side, but one side has more darker and cooler looking designs. Elves on both sides except one are evil and have female with skimpy outfits. Only difference is dwarves and greenskins and if you ask me, Warhammer orcs and goblins are **** of a lot cooler than Warcraft orcs and dwarves of any game.

Even if one side has a population advantage, I hope populations will be somewhat 60:40 rather than 75:25.

To be honest, I think destruction will have a slight advantage numbers wise, however, it's really not going to mean anything.

What matters is how many players take thier character to rank 40, and how many of those are in an organised guild.

If theres one thing PW showed its that a small, organised group can take on a much larger zerg, easpecially in seiges, and win.

Since much of the PvP content is instanced and has population caps, numbers aren't going to matter much. For the open RvR, teamwork is still going to matter more than numbers.

Only time will tell, but either way, its going to be one **** of a fight, and thats what we are all playing for right?

I disagree here! Numbers very much matter for queue times, and while open RvR may reward numbers there's simply no way 16 people are going to win against a zerg of 40.

Depends on how organised your 2 groups are Tovin. The one thing favouring a realm with limited numbers is that they will be forced by necessity to group and be a team. If the destruction side is used to having the weight of numbers, and employing the zerg, it actually works against them when they meet a coordinated restistance.

I know for a fact that 10 organised players can hold a keep from 30-40 enemies employing the zerg.

I can't wait to see 2 highly organised guilds clash in RvR, I think we'll see some truly epic battles played out in WAR.

I went with Order being more populated. My reasoning is basically from WoW examples. Alliance is almost much higher than the Horde in most servers lol. Everyone wants in on the "Good Vs. Evil" action. Not me, I'm a bad guy in a nice guy's body lol. MMORPGS are like my Bazarro (spelling?) world.

I was going to change my vote to Destro because let's face it Chosen is just about the sweetest looking class/job/whatever you want to call it, that I've seen in any MMORPG. Marauder takes a very close second in my book.

I found that the "good vs. evil" wasn't the issue with WoW early on; it was the "12 YOs want to play hot looking elf chicks" syndrome.

I quit for a few months and, when I came back, I found a lot of my old guild members had re-rolled Horde, so I did so. There were so many more mature people on that side than on Alliance.

I think the children (emotional years, not calendar ones) are going to end up Destruction because they look cooler, it (imho) has been pushed more in the videos/trailers that I've seen, and they've got the ezmode toon (squig herder).

The only thing worse than long queue times due to overpopulation is sitting on your bum waiting for a group to fill out. *shrug*

Yeah, I think the "Hot Elf" factor being available to BOTH SIDES is going to really help balance things out.
I'm also one of those people who goes with aesthetics and I say Destruction has the most awesome-looking models / gear.
