The Fifth Star comes to WarFollow

TFS will be continuing in Warhammer here in the next few weeks.

For those of you that don't know. The Fifth Star started out as an Allakhazam Guild in WoW. Two and a half years later it's the oldest Guild on the server. We've developed a lot of really close online gaming friends in that time and hope to continue that into Warhammer.

I'm looking to add new players from this forum as we move forward. We've already been gathering people from our own WoW Guild.

I know a few discussions about an Allah guild has been proposed before, but I thought start getting the ball moving in earnest.

Ruleset?
Order/Destruction?
Forums?
PvE/RvR slant?
Leadership info?
Guild meetings?
Vent/TS info/required?

Details are necessary!

Well all that depends on how many people we pick up here.

But at least to get things rolling:

We are leaning Destruction which will not be finalized until everyone gets a chance to mess around in Open Beta. In the same matter, we're currently interested in Open Rules Servers (we were on a PvP Server in WoW).

We currently have Forums and Vent set up. We're at our WoW website currently (which I manage) and if the name changes I'll get the new domain set up.

Leadership info. Is currently Tyr and myself until we can get membership finalized and then we'll recast leadership from all players. 4 officers plus Guild Leader is how we started in WoW but that can change based on in game experience (For instance Class Leaders were added after we hit the level Cap in WoW). We're only leading atm because we manage the forum. We'd like to open up that opportunity to someone else as we lead the WoW incarnation of TFS.

Guild Meetings will be forum based or Ventrillo based as necessary. We prefer to keep as much in-game as possible while using the Forum as an additional resource for out of game discussion and organization.

As much as I'd love to join I'll be rolling with some RL friends. I'm still very much hoping to be able to roll on the same server as TFS.

What I'm suggesting is, why don't they come too

I don't really care if it's the TFS or Generic Allah guild, I just know how much fun it was to pull a bunch of the community here together and go. You get your friends, you get a mix of new people, and then after a while you can pull more people from the server.

I'm merely trying to get the ball rolling and get some people together for WAR.

Welcome back DV8, we missed your hunter.

I'm nervous about picking any server that starts with A and is the first in the list.

Archimonde was pretty much down forever when WoW launched for those same reasons.



I have to say I'm somewhat surprised... why would they?

Are they afraid of being in a guild with competent leadership that are adaptable and understand that people have life outside the game and have a track record of being pretty awesome for longevity/performance?

I'm seriously trying to figure someone we pissed off over the years here... not sure who. If it's any concern (since it might be to some Asylum go-er :P) I most likely won't be the GM :P.

You guys do all understand that WAR is about well... War... the bigger the guild, the more fun it will be. Creating half a dozen small guild on the server certainly is better then all playing on different server, but ultimately, it's not a really good 'strategy'.

Yes. I understand that one guild would be more cohesive than several smaller guilds, but I'm really not in a situation to abandon ship. My RL friends and I created our guild back in December of 2007, long before I knew TFS was planning on playing WAR. We also have 40+ members counting on us now.

I'm strongly in favor of rolling on the same server as TFS, and I would completely support cooperation between the two of us.

I know it's not what you wanted to hear, but that is the situation right now.

Heh, well, I was kinda keen on Todbringer (because it's, you know, DEATH bringer...makes me think of Totmacher by :wumpscut:). But then, I'm kinda obsessed with T names.

So you guys are planning on rolling on an Open ruleset server? If so I'd have to say I'm interested.

Currently the group I'm planning on starting the game with is planning on going Destruction on a core ruleset server, but I have more interest in open ruleset since I've always played WoW on a PvP servers. Plus I like the randomness it provides. The lakes are always fun, but it sometimes I like the smaller scale stuff and I want to have my sorceress to have some 1 on 1 encounters.

Would be awesome if we could get one main "Zam" server that both order and destruction members are on. Of course if it was open you'd have to make a decision on which side you want to be on, but I could imagine it would be fun. Could even schedule guild conflicts with one another.

By the way is there any order people on guilds on these forums yet? Personally looking at destro but wouldn't mind going order, especially a community one with a lot of members to rival the competition.

Please do post it as news. I was never involved in the first TFS guild, but it is the same mentality I enjoyed on my WoW server.

WoW account has been canceled as of tonight. Aadyn shall be reborn in WAR. Let me know what server/side and ill be there.

Open servers means pvp servers. There is no ffa pvp, only faction on faction combat. Open servers means you are always flagged whereas on core servers you must enter a specific pvp area in order to play world pvp.

Since Open Beta starts tonight I'd like to mention that we're going to be playing on Red Eye Mountain for the Open Phase on Destruction side.

The exception here is if they have Open Servers and Red Eye isn't Open then we will be on a server that starts with G that is open. If that doesn't exist, whoever gets in first gets to pick the open server :P

This is just for open beta. Feel free to try out Order as well. We will be making the final Order Vs. Destruction call on Wednesday (although Destruction has a huge lead atm).
