Im new to the game and trying to figure out stuff. Im coming to this game from wow and its proving difficult lol. I picked the Total PVE realm is that a good one? just trying to figure out where all the people are. Im only lvl 6 so maybe just not many new toons. would love any help. Thanks.
It is good if you only like PvEing. It is not what made this game good though. WoW is a far better PvE game. This game's popularity has always been the Realm versus Realm aspect of it.
The PvP aspect with three factions, and each realm having different classes with unique abilities is what sets it apart. That being said, it is not an easy game to get the hang of. You have to have a certain mentality that you are going to be inferior for a while in terms of skill and knowing abilities, and what to do in certain situations. The gear though needed to compete is nowhere near as hard to get as it is in WoW. In fact, if you joined a good guild, a person could get you to level 50, and give you what you needed for a decent (not top of the line, but competitive) in a few days.
The trick then becomes learning the game, and the interrupt system, and having the patience. It is a great game, but you need the right people to help you when you are new to game.

The game is old, and leveling is not something most people do the old fashioned way. Whether they are level 6 or 45, most people level by grouping with level 50 toons. This game rewards you in that and you can level much faster. Since most people already did the old fashioned grind, they don't have any interest in it, so they do it the quickest way possible (either Power Leveling, or just doing Level 50 task dungeons). The game begins at level 50, and people for the most part get there as quickly as possible.
For someone totally new though, I recommend you level in the battlegrounds. There are xp quests there that give great xp. YOu can get aurulite there to buy mediocre gear. The level 20-24 bg is a good place to turn off xp and earn realm points. Thidranki is somewhat popular, and you can see how RvR is there (not on PvE server though). Molvik is also a popular BG (35-39).
I've never played Gaheris, but I have done PvE on a regular server, and this game is nothing great when it comes to PvE b/c new content is not added regularly and it is stale. I would not recommend Gaheris unless that is what you are sure your playstyle will want.

I would recommend switching to a PVP server. You will prob find many more people there that can help you learn the game and to level with.
