I bet a lot of you have seen this coming.

Anyways, I'm relatively new to the game and could use some help picking a class.
I'm mainly more interested in caster, or caster hybrid but am willing to play healer or melee.

I've been looking at the classes and can't decide at all. My friend who is a vet will be returning, but we were going to play Alb/Mid together as Hib isn't really appealing. I'd like to play Hib though until he does return.

This is for classic. Any response is appreciated. Thanks all.

If by Alb/Mid together you mean that you'll be mid and he'll be alb and you'll not be able to talk to each other, and never see each other but in RVR where the goal will be for one of you to beat the other into submission - then that's cool.

Otherwise, you both need to be the same realm, or be playing on a co-op server.

Okay, that was worded poorly, my apologies. What I mean is that we'll play alb together or mid together.

I'd probably try out different classes to see what you like

On alb, all casters (except necro) are good and useful in final RvR endgame. Heretic is probably the best caster/hybrid toon in game.

On Midgard, Bonedancers and Runemasters are good toons. Warlocks are fun, but can be frustrating and are a bit difficult to learn to play, so you would need to read a guid. Thanes would probably be the best hybrid/caster toon Midgard has to offer, but they are not the most popular in groups.

If you do go on Hibernia, Eldritches are by far the cream of the crop in caster toons. Animists, Bainshees and Enchanters also pack a powerful punch and have neat variances, with mentalist not being very populated. Valewalkers are also like tics in that they are hybrid casters, but they are more melee oriented, where a heretic can be played melee or caster and be successful. Vampiirs also are very popular, especially on classic, and are solid end game toons.

Well, I've narrowed it down to four for Hib. Druid, Bard, Warden, and Mentalist (Ironic, they all have healing abilities. I seem to not mind healing) What's classic more in need of?

I'd recommend bard or druid. the other classes just are not grouped as much, but all groups want a bard and 2 druids.
