Coming back to DAoC... Fresh install or keep going as is?Follow

ok.. so i played this game from beta to trials of Atlantis, and quit right before catacombs was released (if i remember correctly).. I have my original disks up to Atlantis.

I downloaded and played the 14 day trial before realizing i still knew my username/password of my old account.

I have decided i want to come back, using that old account, not my trial one.

So.. Do i uninstall the trial and install the original disks and download the new expansions/patches.. or should i just install the expansions that i haven't yet and play my old username using the software i installed for the 14 day trial? Is there a difference in the actual software and the trial software once you use a paid account?

I just want to make sure, if i'm paying for the game, that i'm not missing out on content.

Thanks in advance!

No need to re-install, although you will have to upgrade to Catacombs (which is free on the www.camelotherald.com website). As long as you have the user account/password, you are good to go.

On the options section of it, (this would be after you select the server you want to play but put in No Thanks for the quick select toon), you can go to account info and reactivate your account. There, you can also activate the expansions (which you would have to pay for--Darkness Rising and Labyrinth of the Minotaur), but Catacombs is now free.

You will have to do a lot of patching though I believe to get caught up, but this is done automatically, although incredibly slow.

One thing though, today is a patch day, so if you tried today, 1) you probably won't be able to log in until this evening (US time) and 2) downloads will be 10x slower than on any other day b/c everyone is using the patchers.

Thanks for the response :)

I'll prolly just do that, but i might wait for the complete upgrade for a couple days then, or start and leave it overnight :)

Good to know, i really didn't want to have to reinstall stuff.. slow or not, i think i'd rather just set it to download and walk away :D
