well i just started playing daoc today.. but all day long i keep going "linkdead"

no matter what server i play on or anything i do stops this from happening every 5 minits or so

now dont get me wrong its a fun game i love it but if i cant play for more then 5 min at a time its not worth my money

and yes i tried setting my nic card to 10mbps half ect and no i dont have any background programs running.. no torrents disabled firewall AND antivirus did everything possiible to ensure no D/C

and my internet is 10mbps cable Wired Cat-5 so its not a wireless dropped signal

well.. if anyone can tell me whats going on or how to fix it you just might see a fresh face...

if not.. oh well ffxi and wow and rf is enough monthly bills for me then lol

Maybe your processor or video card is overheating...

What kind of video card are you using?

How much memory do you have and is your RAM usage set at?

What is the speed of your processor?

when you crash do you get blue screen or crash to desktop...are you using DirectX 10...what's your video card...are you running vista (if so, is it 32bit or 64)...

i have experienced a similar problem lately on my new PC build..i am just about 95% certain it is because of the DirectX 10, Vista 32Bit, and nVidia 7600 GT configuration. Sometimes I'd get the bluescreen (but it would be useless info) but most of the time it would crash to desktop. Nothing is overheating (i have RPM programmable fans on my system and have maxed them out while monitoring). it's random on what i'm doing (will do it anywhere between 5-10min mostly at 5min mark). I think the DirectX 10 and my video card aren't 100% compatible. It did work for about a month and Mythic pushed a patch for camelot.exe and it hasn't worked since. Been working with the techs but they seem to be clueless as i more than exceed all minimum requirements.
