Dark Age of Camelot - PvP QuestionsFollow

#1 Jul 23 2005 at 9:25 PM Rating: Decent
I play DOAC (level 16 scorceror) and am interested in PvP but I have a few simple questions I can't find answers for.

What are the penalties for death in PvP? Do you lose your inventory? Are your stats reduced? Do you regenerate at bind stones outside of the PvP areas? Inside the areas?

The biggest question I have is do you lose XP? This is the toughest thing about dieing in PvE and if it caries over to PvP dieing once could cost hours of XP recovery time.

Thanks - I'd like to try PvP but fear the penalties may be too high - can anyone shed light on this since I can't find this info anywhere else?

There really are no penalties for dying in PvP combat. You do not lose inventory, stats, or exp. If in NF you reappear at either SF or VF depending on where you died.

what he said... plus you get Resurrection Illness for about 4 mins. Problem with what our mid friend said you would respawn at SF or VF. Yuo as a Sorceror will release to the Border Keeps in your realm, castle sauvage, and I can't think of the other... If you release to SF or VF as an alb I feel bad for ya :P ... mids don't like albs, and you'd be troll fodder until mythic fixed the bug :) see ya!

In New Frontiers you will release to Castle Sauvage or Snowdonia Fortress as an Alb. New Frontiers is geared exclusively towards high level players, and due to your current level you will be engaging in RvR (Realm vs Realm instead of Player vs Player) in the Battlegrounds. RvR is Mythic's twist on other game's PvP and is vastly superior as it depends heavily on teamwork and tactics. You will release to the alb keep within each respective zone.

As the previous posts said you will not lose any xp or gear. No penalties to dying minus rez illness for a few minutes. Realm Points are gained thru killing your Realm enemies and are used to acquire valuable Realm abilities. Capturing the CK (Central Keep) within each Battleground results in pretty good XP also.

Have fun!
