Hi!I haven't played DAoC in ages heh,and have a few questions before I come back.
(sorry if I sound like I'm being a demanding jerk)
1.)Has the game changed a WHOLE LOT since right after trials of Atlantis?(That's when I quit because my computer couldn't handle it.)
2.)Should I buy the Catacombs expansion if I want to play a SB
3.)Is the game still RvR focus,or do you have to PvE like mad before you even stand a chance in RvR?

Well to start with #3: Don't really have a clue, since I have only rvr'ed in Thid. I do know people twink and just buy SC'ed stuff and go from there, but if you just starting might have to do some work, but the quest lists here would help you get eq.
#2 Catacombs seems to be wonderful (played it a whole two days now). I just started my SB on Guin (my new "home" server) and cats instanced dungeons seem to be be great. Have a quest to kill 8 ant drones, you can just stealth past the soldiers etc and kill what you need and then get out to collect bonus. My BD on the other hand just kills it all and racks up money and xp.
For #1 see #2 :) They are bringing in two new servers with no TOA (don't need TOA to activate Cats there) so you could try it out with that ruleset (limited buff bots too, have to be grouped to get buffs)

I started playing this game with the ToA expansion and I would have to say yes there has been some big changes, and one of em is hitting the streets today :) (Just waiting for the servers to come up now)
I love Catacombs myself, leveled my 50 Heretic almost entirely down there, and have been leveling my Healer/SM combo there a lot, but Catas is more into PvE as most of the drops are PvE specific.
I RvR'd some with my Tic (3L9 before I retired her) on my old server and found that the group you are in can sometimes matter better than the gear, but I ran with this one Reaver who had an awesome Template, and we had to farm for awhile to get the gear that he needed. As the last post said, most people just SC out their gear and go RvR.

I am amazed at how many of us there are that are coming back. I have been gone for a couple of years myself and was amazed that my account still exists. I am happy with the way this game plays, and with the new classes, but I am a bit dissapointed in the SCed gear that can be found; there isn't much out there for lower levels, and there is almost no gear for the new classes on the vendors in towns. I have tried over and over to find a focus staff for a Warlock, and they aren't out there.
I do remember why I loved this game before, though, they interface is excellent, and the RVR can't be beat.
