why is it that 1 skin is 0.4 pounds, but 5 skins is 2.4 pounds??

Just sopunds like a round off to me. If 1 skin were actually 0.48 than 5 skins would be 2.4. If they always rounded down than the 0.48 would be 0.4. Works in your benefit.
