I'm thinking of starting up with DAoC. Would it be worth it to pick up Trials as well? I noticed it states that it gives a graphical improvement, but is it noticable? Also, would all or most of the content be only geared to the seasoned and high lvl characters?

I'm a "casual" player and am currently playing City of Heroes and really enjoy it. I'm looking for another game to get into and jump back and forth with. I recently tried AO, and simply could not get into it.....it just didn't "feel" right.

read up on the game on this site, and hit the herald for more details on it. good game without a doubt, but way low on the server population.

to be blunt, that is the only down side to DAoC is the low server population. everything ealse is better then any other MMORPG in its genra. so that means its better then L2, EQ, and that other one that is out there too. i have played EQ for years, L2 during beta, and ive been back to DAoC for several months now.

in the fantasy medevil types, DAoC is by far the best game. best combat system. best xp system. best quest system, best ballancing for PvE, and PvP, best PvP action in any MMORGP in the world atm, best tradeskill system, and best graphics. yes way better then CoH, and IMHO blows even SWG away in graphics. keep in mind that DAoC is now roughly 4yr old and its still better then any other MMORPG on the market for eye candy.

L2 comes the closest to the eye candy of DAoC. also the next expansion for DAoC is going to be free. this includes mega upgrades to the PvP, graphics, and combat systems. that is in open beta atm, and Mythic has said they will leave it there until it is working as planed.

in other words they refuse to release a broken POS code expansion unlike SoE with all of their expansions starting with SoV(3rd expansion)
