Does anybody know if platinum edition will be completely updated or will i have to go through all the updates since the start of the game. This is an extremely important question b/c my dad has Dial Up and i had to quit playing FFXI b/c of this(and the repetitiveness of FF).

you will have to go though the updates since the date of the CDs. that is not all of the updates from the begining of the game, but it still could be a rather large amount of data.

you might also want to make a CD(s) back up once you get them all d/l as you are on dial-up. that will save you for the furture if/when you have to rebuild your computer.
i have yet to have an issue causing me to reinstall DAoC unlike EQ, but i know M$ and those need to be rebuilt every once in a while depending on your OS.

not sure i understand your question?
do you mean download them into a seperate directory and burn that??? no i dont think you can do that. they auto update your DAoC directory so they uncompress after they are on your HD. at least that is how i understand it to work.
so just download and fully patch your system. then copy 700-800g at a time out to a CD.
you can do that either via winXP built-in cdburing software(based on EZ CDrecorder) or use a 3rd party software if you are not on winXP. i still use 3rd party software for backups as it far more efficient and there is no second guessing what and when something is burned.
