Sorry if this has been asked but I actually forgot the name of the quest, it's basically the tutorial quest chain that you progress along from the bartender in the city by the sea...
I complete a part of the quest to escort one of the lalafells to the south tower, then I went back to the fisherman's guild, and was paid 3000g. Upon looking at my quest log, it said, ~"hey, you've been paid now go back and talk to the bartender!"
When I go talk to the bartender he says ~"good job with the escort, now go get your money, sometimes they won't pay up!"
I feel like I'm in a he said she said loop, npc 1 already paid me and is asking me to talk to npc 2, meanwhile npc 2 is asking me to go get paid from npc 1... help!

I'm sorry, but you seem to be on the quest forum for Final Fantasy 11 rather than 14. We don't have Lalafell here and there is no such escort quest =p
Maybe try over at ZAM's FFXIV page or their forums? I see there is also a FFXIV wiki being constructed that has some quest info.
