Okay, my hidden agenda is getting rid of the dot on the forum index. It was bothering me.

But this is Relevent to the topic, so there.

Have you ever discovered an old quest you'd started but never finished, for whatever reason? I was going nuts in Fei-Yin because I'd never bothered to get the map there, and I was farming Mythril Ore for goldsmithing. After an hour of getting lost, I headed to Windy to knock it out once for all, only to discover I had stalled two quests earlier. It took me about 15 minutes to finish the quest, start the next one, finish it, then do the final quest for the durn map once and for all.

This has made me wonder about the rest of the quests I've started and never finished. I kinda want to go through my quest log and do the rest of them, but I know there's no point. I already have max fame everywhere but the Outlands.

Has anyone ever knocked out all the quests in the game? Or at least tried to?

I have attempted that a few times when I got a few jobs to 75 myself. All I can say is that it is a massive time sink, but you get some great story out of it (not to mention random quirky rewards that may be of use later, such as the Rhinostery Certificate key item that grants you backdoor access to Toraimarai Canal).

Personally, I like doing quests myself. There are a lot of quests out there and you get some great stories out of them. It is times like that when you get random cutscenes and realize "Wow, they put a lot of time to make a good side-story."

Of course, some of the more annoying quests are the ones that you can't do on your own and people refuse to help with at all. Like the one with the Lamia and the zombie thing in the Caedarva Mire. I've asked many a party that I have merited there with to help me with that. All of them go along the lines of "If you want the quest, make a party for it". Or something along the lines of "I am not risking that", despite that we are easily hitting chain 100s roaming around. All that l33t gear and still being a wuss about it kind of makes me wonder "Do you really deserve that Byakko Haidate if you're just going to kill imps and birds with it?"

Anyway, sorry for the side rant. Quests are great and, though they take a bit of time, I enjoy them quite a bit, even if some are poor rewards (though others do get you good stuff or good equips you can sell for a lot of gil).

Some time ago I took it upon myself to complete about 80-90% of the Windurst quests. I still have a handful that I haven't done -- Tuning In/Ou, the last two S.O.B.. quests, Toraimarai Turmoil, and a few others at the tail end of a series. Oh, and one of the first quests I ever flagged: Eco-Warrior >.<;

By contrast, I still have a ton of low-fame Sandy and Bastok quests that I haven't even flagged.

As far as starting and never finishing a quest, I was running around Fei'Yin recently for ACP, and stumbled upon a chest. Hoping for a Life Belt, I popped it, and was surprised to receive a Fei'Yin Magic Tome.

I'd purchased Teleport-Vahzl years ago, and had completely forgotten that I'd flagged the quest.

I've left a fair few unfinished, to the point where I no longer click random ???'s that I find, just in case something pops out to say hello when I'm not ready for it.

As they say, curiosity killed the mithra. Turns out it works for humes, too.

Yeah, I accidentally spawned the NM in The Temple of Uggelepih with the blank picture frame because I clicked it out of curiosity.

'/lschat What's this? Oh, a statue just popped . . . Oh, it just hit me for 200. Oh dear. Oh look, I'm dead.'

as far as checkinf random ???s go, I popped the sleepga II NM and got my **** handed to me... =) good times.
I've completed every quest in sandoria though, at least, I think I have and a good majority of the quests everywhere else. whenever I'm bored or don't have much time to play I'll choose a random quest in my log and do it, and I'm constantly talking to every NPC, not to mention I like to look up quests here and on other sites all the time just to see what I'm missing.

A suggestion for a good storyline quest that I think most people will enjoy is the quest "A timely visit" found in sandoria I did it 2 or 3 years ago and it remains one of my most favorite quests.

Quite a few, and it bugs me. Off the top of my head, Kuftal Tour (never been able to get 5 others for 10 minutes), the one where you fight a bomb in Rancor Den, the BC battle in mineshaft for the Bowyer Ring, Tuning In (I've had to have killed at least 100 Fomor WAR/SAM/MNK's in lufaise in the years ive had this quest active), the Miraculous DALE (killed Drooling Daisy the other day, one down), a bunch in TOAU areas like Two Horn the Savage and the one with the light clusters in the troll area. Basically any quest that requires more than 3 people I still haven't done. Anyone Garuda is welcome to invite me to any of these useless quests so I can have a clear log.

I'm a quest **** >.>;

I'm down to missing only eco-warrior and escort for hire in Windy (disregarding AF and WS quests, though I'm only missing Empyreal Arrow and maby SMN AF). Think I'm only missing eco-warrior, advanced teamwork and escort for hire in SdO (have done lu shang quest). Missing maby 4-5 quests in Bastok and can't remember if I'm missing any in Jeuno. Missing more from Outlands and Other and can't remeber my Aht Urhgan and past status, though I have done a lot of the new quests as well.

And no, the rewards seldom makes up for the items/time needed for completing the quests.

I have a few Jeuno quests that are giving me trouble ("Child's Play"). I can't figure out why Karl won't take the White Stone that he asked for. I went all the way back to Bastok for it. Because I can't finish Child's Play, I also can not do "Cook's Pride" or "The Wonder Magic Set". It's fustrating....
