Promy Mea Party QuestionFollow

So Promyvion Mea has been giving me quite a bit of trouble. I've attempted 3 or 4 times with absolutely no success. The boss gets down to about 70% hp and the destroys the party each and every time.

I've decided to try again with a party of 5 smn and me (maybe on mnk or whm). I've heard that this party setup is absolutely overkill but as I've never played smn before and don't really have any idea how much hp these bosses have I'm wondering if anyone could tell me how much hp I could reasonably expect to lop off if all of the smns use their 2hrs at the start of the fight. I'd also like to know the chances of survival if the mob doesn't die after the 2hrs and a possible hundred fists.

Thx in advance to anyone who replies :)

I've always done Promy's with 2 SMNs, never more or less personally...

For Mea...I want to say we usually get 3 volleys of Astral Flow before it dies, but the last ones usually are overkill. We also have some melee's beating on it.

With 5 SMN's...I'd be surprised if the boss lived for all 5 to get a 2nd round off.

My concern is what will happen while the SMN's wait their timers out. Be ready with Animas :)

instead of going with 5 smns have everyone bring 2 animas, a psycho and a hystero, set an anima order and you really should have no problem with any of the promys. although if those 5 people have smns at 75 they could finish all of CoP for you in like a day

Thanks for getting back to me. Dawg I didn't think about that timers so I'll make sure we have animas to take care of that.In response to Darrtt the issue is after waiting for ~2 hours for <Looking for members> and for ppl to get their equipment and animas and then X amount of time to make it through the promyvion, everyone gets impatient and no1 really takes the time to remember the order no matter how important I say it is. That's why I'm looking for a fool proof party setup that doesn't rely entirely on Animas. :)

My solution to that is simple - make sure everyone HAS anima, and run through the anima once you actually get to the spire right before the bossfight . You're in a safe place them . used the time to test macros, make sure everyone knows their place in the order, and you're good to go .

Discussing strategy at the very start of a run leaves time for people to forget, doing it in the spire means it's fresh in peoples minds . Hope that helps.

When I ran my promies I just made sure everyone knew that I had my warp cudgel on me and would be using it in the spire if even 1 person didn't have animas. I always keep a couple extra recollections on a mule (in addition to my own) just in case the AH is out on the day we're doing the promy. Other meds I keep on hand are holy waters and poison potions.

Certain jobs really shine in promies (war/nin, smn, blu, rng) while others I always counted as 'free-rides' (nin, thf, blm, brd). I always aim to have at least 3 of the "good" jobs, a healer, and then have room for 2 of the less ideal jobs. I'm not saying that those are the only jobs, just that it certainly makes life easier. With that kind of party build and everyone using their animas you can make a whole pile of mistakes and still get the win. By the way I think I've gotten promy wins using every job in the game, but I always try to stick as closely as possible with the above strategy.

If you're the party leader, it should also be up to you to remember the order just in case, and make sure you're reminding people during the fight to use them at the appropriate time.

As for set-up, most of the videos I've seen included things like a WAR/NIN, 2 RNGs, 2 SMNs and a Healer...but there've been a few differences here and there with odd jobs thrown in. Sadly, ElGato is mostly right and there are a lot of jobs that can't offer much. I want to say BRD isn't one of them though, cause Soul Voice + Certain Songs can make the fights super smooth.

Going as a MNK with the 5 SMN setup sounds like the best idea to me.
