How to win Chocobo Pashhow Swamptrot #6? Truly ITGFollow

Have you won this? What info and advice can you give? What are your stats?

My bird has hard capped stats FirstClass-Impressive-Average-Average (SS-A-C-C) with Gallop & Canter. I cannot adjust these stats without raising a new bird which is out of the question.

He easily won the first 5 Swamptrot races on the first try. He's good at the Crystal Stakes and wins about 6/7 C2 races (looks like C2 stats will worsen since the changes in the last update).

I am now at 10 losses for Pashhow race #6. I am always using final-spurt to avoid getting hit by a fire biscuit and have tried several race items with minimal success. Even when Sakura has an accident on the field she beats me by a good margin.

I know this race is possible, a friend of mine won it using a speed apple.

This rant won't mean anything to you unless you're also struggling in circuit racing. Rate Down -> Move on.

500 Chocobucks... *poof*. Are you sh#%ing me? So, to come up with the entry fees, it takes 4 minutes and 1000g to earn 3.25 chocobucks. Roughly 308 gil per chocobuck and 154 free runs which comes to a total of 154,000g and 6 1/4 hours gone. Gone on a race that's based on luck thanks to the overwhelming advantages of Sakura.

The ultimate race has always been the Crystal Stakes, and in the long run is worth the investment. Now this one comes along rewarding you with a 2nd tier trophy and a guaranteed loss of gil (even if you win on the first try). The 10k reward isn't even enough to raise the 50 chocobucks required as an entry fee. Where's the love for taking first place? >:(

Don't get me wrong, I'd love the trophy and title. I am a goal oriented player. But there's no skill in it like the rest of racing! It just comes down to throwing money and time into it, and one day you hit that lucky race where the heavens open up and all the planets align.

Basing a mini-game on luck is fine. But why severely punish those who wish to complete it? And why make it nearly impossible even for veteran speed bred chocobos? The chocobo's in this race boost Sakura with a Dream Cracker, and on top of that Sakura has a Dream Apple which is (at least) two other race items combined into one. Couldn't you have just added some pop-eye music and have it eat a can of spinach while running circles around the contestants? I can't wait to see what the requirements are going to be for the inevitable gold trophy >.>

I guess since I'm in rant mode, it should be said that there should be at least some chocobuck profits for taking first place in circuit races. Simply having your entry fee returned (which these **** Pashhow races don't even do) is too little.

I think this is a rainy-weather race, which is a bit of a handicap for most birds.

Anyway, my chocobo is similar to yours ( SS/S/C/D Canter+Gallop ), and took me 7 tries to beat it. I did so setting chocobo to Final Spurt with Pepper Biscuit -- first few times Pepper Biscuit would either be evaded, or target an irrelevant chocobo. When the Pepper Biscuit finally hit square on, my Chocobo was able to overtake Sakura.

Ok thanks Guppie. I have used that strategy twice but it ended up pretty bad. I'll have to give it another go.

At the risk of sounding like an idiot, how do you even start the Pashhow races? I completed the "Classic" Circuit back before the official Circuit even opened, and I received the bronze trophy from the CRA NPC after the update, but he hasn't offered me any new official races yet. Clearly I'm missing something? O.o

Each nation has a new NPC standing somewhere near the chocobo stables that offers the new races.

South Sandoria (I-11): Lafaurelle
Bastok Mines (J-9): Zagied
Windurst Woods (K-12): Chualulu
