I’m not sure if I’m quitting the game right now. It’s a definite possibility, but I don’t want to say that I am and then have to eat my words later. So I’ll just say that I’m seriously considering it.
I will leave the site up, as it is in its current condition. Even though the information has been eclipsed (read: stolen and had the life sqeezed out of it by editors of FFXIwiki) by other sites, enough people have responded to it that I must have done something right. So it will stay up. Linsaran, the administrator of the website, will be able to decide what to do with it. If paying the bandwidth that supports the site is too much of a hassle then he may remove it, though I still have offline copies of everything in case it needs to be put up somewhere else.
Please don’t send me any more emails or messages about FFXI or this site. I am, as I said, not updating the site and so I’m not looking for information to fill the few holes that remain. And honestly I don’t really want to talk about FFXI stuff right now.
If people won’t leave me alone about it I’ll have to take the site down. I don’t like threats though so just, ya know, leave it be.
It’s been fun guys. Thank you all for the support and feedback you have given me over the past 8 months or so.

Anyway, I've updated the website with all the mission (including The Black Coffin). How did you come to the idea that there's a RNG hume? I saw 2 COR humes, 1 MNK hume and 2 RDM mithras. Hence the screenshots on my website displaying a MNK.

I have a question.
I can't seem to get the cutscene in Alzadaar Underseas Ruins to activate. I'm wondering if this is because I haven't completed A mercenary's life? which is in my current missions section. How do I complete it?

You recieve 2 cutscenes in a row from Naja in order to complete missions 7 and 8. You have to wait a real day (until JP midnight) after getting the first one to get the second one. So try again after JP midnight.

I'm trying to get the next mission "A Mercenary's life", but Naja refuses to give me the CS for it. I got both the Teahouse CS and the Naja CS after that, and I've gone several in-game days and zoned many times...

M-15 The Black Coffin
Ok Naja will tell try to make you feel dumb now and ask why you didnt find information about a ship, personally at this point I was still pissed off about having 255 Gold coins stolen from me so I started being an @#%^ in my answers... YES it did make me feel better. Basically what Naja (or "THAT @#%^ING MITHRA BITCH" as I call her) is getting at is the "Cutter" in Arrapago Reef (for those of you who have done COR AF3... yes it is the same place and yes it is the same BC area) the next part of the mission is going to be a BCNM so get ready with a full party.
Ok how to get there, first go to Dvucca Isle Staging Point. If you dont know how to get there then look it up, I am writing this out but I don't have the time or willpower to make maps and stuff to guide you to this point.
From Dvucca Isle Staging Point head directly West (for the love of God do not forget Sneak & Invis) to the zone into Arrapago Reef. from there follow the tunnel down and stop when you get to the opening. If you now look to your Right Hand Side you will see a little boat... thats our destination! run over to the little Sloop and then... CUTSCENE!
Ok in this Cut Scene we started to worry, we thought this was the entry to the BC but thankfully it's not! Relax! It's just a Cut Scene at the end of it you get spat out right where it began so don't worry, it's not until you click on the point called "Cutter" that the BC starts and your whole party is warped to a battlefield at once.
Now, the BC its self... we thought "Oh we will take sleep pots etc etc etc" DON'T! I will save you the waste of money
1) This BC is NOT hard!
2) the Boss doesnt appear until later.
Ok,
(Our Setup; BRD/NIN NIN/WAR WHM/BLM WAR/NIN BLM/WHM)
At first you have 5 mobs in front of you, and you have to kill them all! (STOP WORRYING ITS EASY!)
you will notice behind you there are some stairs, what one brave soul is gonna do (we made the BRD do it) is kite the mobs up and down the stairs in a big loop... its really easy, the mobs only hit for 30 damage and thats IF they hit. All you have to do now is have the tank pick them off one at a time and beat them up.
After the mobs are dead 5 more mobs appear and one of them is called "Black Coffin Captain" just have your kiter keep the others running round and focus all your damage onto the Captain, when the Captain gets to 20% HP he gives up and you win

you don't have to talk to anyone to get the cutscene in Ru Lue Gardens. The only thing you have to do is be standing outside the Duchery Audiance Chamber in the Grand Duke's Palace. This is the same door you go to to talk to the Duke when you go do the Magicite for Rank 5. Be standing there at midnight JST (11am EST or 8am PST) and the cutsence will start automatically (or at least it did for me). Good Luck ^^

The exact same stop point. If you have met requirements for the above quests and are on that certain TM, it'll do all those cutscenes in succession.
Anyway, quick note about the Black Coffin Assault BCNM thing:
Vulcan Shot is near-instant-cast now. Many guides on the first day (and most guides that still exist) said it took a "long time" to cast. Yea.....we found that out the hard way. -_-
I'm also fairly sure Vulcan Shot is random percentage of your HP, as I've never, ever, seen it kill someone, though it has taken me from full HP (1200 or so at 75), to 15 HP. Any help in confirming this would be nice.
Oh...and.....that strat to go up top while Shadows repop. It doesnt work. Gessho will automatically start attacking the next set of Shadows and thus draw aggro before you get any resting done. Now, if you can someone lead Gessho UP There, and I mean WAY up there, it -might- work, but he seems programmed to auto-Leeroy-Rush them when they pop second time.
and I'm 100% sure its next JPN day from "A Mercenary's Life" to "Undersea Scouting".

hey guys, sorry for the late update, i haven't played in about 2 months, but i haven't quit. the connection at my college sucks and it's just impossible to play. i'm going to do the CS missions tonight to verify them and then add in a walkthrough for the rest of the missions added on October 18th.

#22 can be beaten with 4 people, and the unlikely 4 at that. PLD/WAR, NIN/WAR, RDM/BLM, BLM/WHM. Easy as pie.

I can't get the cutscene for ToAU 18 - Passing Glory. It just says go to Naja after the audience with the Empress (Errant worked for me, btw), but she doesn't give me a cutscene. She just says something along the lines of she won't give me back my glory crown unless I go out there and be the best mercenary I can be. I even tried zoning and waiting for next game day, and nada. I think this might be one of those wait for JP midnight missions, or am I doing something wrong?

My pt setup for the BC fight was pld, nin, sam, and whm, all 75. I was the pld and I voked and tanked like normal, but some wierd stuff happened. The nin died like 1 min into the fight. Then, no matter what I did, I couldn't hold hate as the sam was getting pummeled. Even Invincible didn't hold hate long enough. Well, down went the sam, so it's just me and the whm and shantt. I do my best to stay alive as long as possible, but the whm ran out of MP, and I got hit my its stunga. I tried to cure asap, but got killed with Cure IV at 80%, soooo close. Naturally, it proceeds to kill the whm. That leaves just Shanttoto left to fight. We got it down low, maybe 15%, so we prayed she'd be able to finish it off. Well, she did. My some divine miracle, "we" won. That had to be the craziest, and funnest fights ever.
I did notice it's high intimidable (if that's a word). It seems any xxx-killer trait will trigger. We figured since its composed of multiple monsters, it can be intimidated by any killer trait.

Khimaira 13 can also be intimidated by a drk with Arcana Killer. I used Arcane Circle and the pld managed to Intimidate it and when I pulled hate I intimidated him several times myself.

Beat Khimera 13 with 3 people 75 NIN/WAR and THF/NIN and 70 WHM/SMN. Biggest trouble we had was me not knowning that that the THF had hate (mob can attack backwards ; ;)

New Mission 4: Enter the Temple of Walahra for a Cutscene
Thats where I'm at, next mission involves going to Mamook, have no idea where.
I THINK it's the Jade Seplecher(sp?) going there now.

Yup, head to Sepulchre after Walahra, and get ready to fight a big ass rhino.

Took PLD, SAM, SAM, WHM, RDM, BLM to the BCNM in Jade. We owned the NM. The first 50% of his health is easy, hits the PLD for 50-75 damage each time, not taking much damage.
Then we got it below 50%. It started getting mad. It used a Fire Based AoE skill called Blazing Angon, did 400 damage the first time. Used it 2 times total throughout the fight. 300 the second time. Towards the end, SAM got hate and it starts beating on him, fast, hitting 300 damage each. SAM ended up with 200 HP before WHM cured him and BLM used BUrst II to finish it off.
We think he used the Hate Reset skill, hate was reset and then he chased after everyone. PLD had a tough time keeping hate. I may be wrong, but who knows, it's only been available for 3 hours. :P

After the jade battle head on down to Arr. Reef as if u were going to the Ashu Talif BC (dvucca staging). there will be a CS on zoning into reef and a CS at the boat.

well we did the assault at 4 without any problem, but we got enough luck to be able 2 pull 2 limia without link, and they kinda easy to kill.
Too bad.. its seem the new missions end right there, so little for a long wait ; ; at least the story is getting better and better.

a confirmation on Playing the Part mission, the time to get the cutscene is unfortunately the full wait till JP midnight deal, not a single game day as the guide currently states. fairly certain a zone is required as well.

If you're going to The Ashu Talif for any reason, I highly recommend going through the undersea ruins instead of Dvucca. It has an exit that will put you a one-minute walk away from the proper Arrapago entrance, with only sneak (and white HP) required.

anyone know if you have to wait for jp midnight in between 7 and 8? the guide doesn't specify so but after zoning in and back out Naja nothing is happening.
