Darkprayer, wanted to say that your guide has been indispensible in my succeeding with Dem and Mea so far (and Holla tomorrow hopefully ^^). We just did Mea last night as WAR/NIN, RNG/NIN, WHM/BLM, BST/WAR, SMN/WHM, and MNK/WAR (I was the WHM). Even though we had an aggro issue on the 3rd floor that required Benediction (d'oh!), we went ahead and fought the boss anyway. With animas it went very smoothly. We used terro for the first 1/2 to 2/3 of the fight, then switched to hystero both to prevent him from using his specials and to keep him from running around too much (so that the SMN and MNK could 2hr effectively....he just runs around like chicken-with-head-cut-off when you use terro....hystero made it so the tank could tank for the last part of the fight). No one was even close to dying until the very end, when he managed to get out one carousel with a sliver of life left which caught me in the middle of recasting stoneskin....I only had 2hp left when he dropped. Other than that, not bad. In terms of party setup, I thought it was pretty well balanced in terms of types of damage (melee, ranged, summons, etc). BST works pretty well for the bosses since the pet can still hit while the mob is running/bouncing around (as can the RNG of course, and to an extent the SMN as well), so give some love to the BSTs too if you see one wanting to join.
Just to reiterate what some previous people have said about their experiences and some overall good advice (which applies to xp parties in some cases as well but especially to this):
DON'T run ahead (can't stress this enough...keep the train as short as possible. Move as one, stop as one, rest as one, fight as one.)
DON'T go afk (if you must, please wait until you get to the spire or at minimum the beginning of the next floor)
DON'T run for the boss before you've buffed up AND rested mp back to full
DON"T forget that scroll of instant reraise WHMs if you want to be on the safe side (or want to raise if you fail the boss)
DO have only *one* leader (and be sure to LISTEN and do what he/she says)
DO have at least a few animas (and especially make sure to set a casting order for them before you enter)
DO bring the appropriate meds for the battle you're fighting (pool your gil and split a stack, that way no one is stuck with a stack of 9 or 10 after you're done)
DO set aside the proper amount of time to complete the number of runs you're planning on doing (esp if you're doing more than one of the promys)
DO, if you get aggro on the last floor, stay calm....just run for the zone (you'll probably want to wait for a voke first if you're a squishy taru mage like myself). If you don't make it, the WHM can easily raise you and you can continue on your way. Don't try to fight, just run.
DO kick it's ass. That IS the idea, right?
If you follow the principles of this guide (and use some common sense), I promise you'll come out fine. Darkprayer has a very good guide here, make use of it.
