Dynamis CalendarsFollow

Hey all,

With the upcoming changes to dynamis, I'm interested in compiling a list of all the dynamis calendar Web sites for all of the servers.

We talked about this on The Mog House yesterday... I wasn't convinced a price decrease alone would lead to the creation of more dynamis linkshells. But toss in better drop rates and pup/blu/dnc relics? Yeah, there may be some new ones.

Anyway, if you know of a dynamis calendar Web site for your server, please list it in a reply to this thread. It doesn't matter for this thread if a few linkshells refuse to abide by your server's calendar... I still believe it would be helpful for most players, especially those considering starting a dyna ls, to be reminded of where to find this information.

I'll update my OP as people reply, and then I'll find some way to repost the info I get (either in main forum or on server forums, depending on how much info I have) as the version update draws closer.

Thanks in advance,

-Thay

#2REDACTED, Posted: Aug 04 2008 at 6:41 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I don't mean to be counter-productive, but this is pretty pointless unless SE DOESN'T make Dynamis instanced in the September update. Most people I've talked to believe at this point that SE will make Dynamis instanced in the next update. However, should this not happen, anything that allows LS's to schedule Dynamis runs more effectively would be a good thing.

Instanced or not, most servers with dynamis calendars seem better off than those without them.

The only one I know of off-hand is dynamisbums, for Phoenix.

Currently used by: Carbuncle and Ifrit

EDIT: Some other linkshells have used it in the past but apparently no longer do.

Seraph doesn't keep one *sob*

Although I am strongly considering making a thread in the Seraph forums to at least compile all the available linkshells, if not the exact schedules.

For almost a year and a half we never had anyone run in our time slots monday and friday. I believe there is a total of 3 ls which run in our time slot monday&friday 8pm est; maybe a 4th on either day, but not both. If you made a thread I'd post times I know of. I think seraph would appreciate a list of dyna shells and times specially with the update and other people thinking about making shells or joining some, one stop-schedule checking would be nice.

That is, of course, until people choose to totally ignore these schedules and use them instead as a guide, as in "Well if they're doing Xarc at 9 PM EST, we'll just go in at 8 PM EST."

Still, here's hoping the new shells that pop up will be respectful of existing schedules.

That has happened. DB calendar (phoenix) is probably one of the oldest calendars around. The shells that do that type of thing tend to break rather quickly because all the shells that do use the calendar do what they can to enforce it. Yeah, you can't really MPK them or anything like that, but when you got a few hundread people on the server pissed off at you, you tend to realize it rather quickly.

There is no way to gather all Dynamis LS's schedule that including asia, US, and Euro LS. Plus ppl change their schedule accordingly or even just right before the dynamis, chances are ppl are still gonna run into each other anyways whether there is a calendar or not. Even the server forums don't have all the dynamis LS listed...

Just my 2 cent.

So you'd rather there not be any attempt made at all to organize Dynamis schedules based on that fact that not all of the shell will be represented all of the time? Use your head, kiddo. The chances of a JP shell entering Dynamis during US primetime is very slim; same goes for an EU shell trying to enter during someone else's primetime.

Dynamis calendars are a great idea; all of the shells that have used one will be more than happy to tell you that.

1) JP, EU, and NA LSes tend to run Dynamis at different times of the day due to time zone differences

2) Even though there is still a chance that two LSes might run into one another, calendars reduce that chance significantly.

Stop being narrow-minded. And use your brain, kid, maybe logic?
And i'm not talking just US, and JP, it's ASIA and EURO as well, if you can read.
Japan is just one of the nations, one of the time zones in Asia, if you got logic.

Yes, it's a great idea, but unfortunately that's not how things work. It's been years since SE launched dynamis, and there are server based LS schedule out there already. So tell me, is everything working out fine? Always stick to the schedule and never try to steal other's location?

Apparently things don't work the way people planned. But try to list ALL the dynamis LS, then find out their schedules, then tell me it reduced it significantly.

Let's face it here, yes, during weekdays there are less chances to run into other shells, cuz' people have work/school. But weekends? That's when ppl start staying online for a long time. Put scheduling as side, just as someone mentioned above, ppl will see others' schedule and steal it like an hour ahead. Simple cuz' there is no obligation, and there is chances ppl change their location 30min before they enter due to different reason. How HNMLS compete with each other is the same how Dynamis LS compete with each other, cuz' we are all humans.

In over 4 years of dynamis, my ls has only had problems with another shell twice. Both times, it was because the group before us ended up entering about 20-30 minutes late, so we got pushed back by that amount. A few other times things have happened with new shells that pop up, or low man shells. I have never seen one of those shells last more then a couple weeks. So in the what.. 5 years that dynamis has been going, with something like 20 LS that use the calendar on phoenix (not including the JP ls), we have had less then 10 problems.

I won't say that the JP shells run on a completely different schedule then we do, because I've seen them at gather together points waiting for us to come out. But most of the shells, even though they don't use the calendar, know of it and work around it.

edit.. just counted.. We have 30 shells using the calendar. And 1 shell that is JP that doesn't use the calendar, but runs near the same time frame. That shell does know about the calendar and I haven't heard of any problems with people contesting zones.
