Actually, that was a joke.

I was making fun of the very people you are talking about in your post, thinking the sky would fall if their money making "Secrets" fell in to the evil hands of other farmers, not understanding that hundreds of other players most likely know these "Secrets."

That's why I mentioned that all blood sells reasonably well to NPCs. I've farmed the exact same things in the past(I try to avoid Leeches though) and freely tell others about those spots.

Sadly, the other major "blood" selling area, Zi'Tah, is heavily packed with RMT. It is hilarious to watch them fight over spawns for that little 10 minute window though.

In large fights the strangest things happen.
People will die and still be standing long after they are dead.
Dead people will slide along the ground past you.

It's possible to break a Dynamis zone!
Dead mobs in dynamis sometimes do not depop.

The Beastmaster pet command "Fight" will not cancel Invis when used.

<scan> can be used just like <t> in a macro or text command when you are tracking something on Widescan. Such as /ja "Charm" <scan>

I still find it very common for people to not know about dodging goblin bomb tosses. Whoever has hate(hopefully the tank)turns and runs away from the PT so that the toss AE only hits them and spares the rest of the PT. I've seen players without hate trying to run from the blast but I don't ever recall it working for them. If only this was made common knowledge on day 1 we all would have had alot less fear of goblins and been spared a ton of downtime from all the cures...and raises. 6 years later and still the masses do not know this. It's a failure of spreading the word by those who do know it and we continue to suffer. FOREVER.

If you cast a long-animation black magic spell (I believe it works with white magic too, but you'll look like a pansy) while locked onto your target in 3rd person perspective and hold down left or right as the spell goes off, you will "float" around the mob on your toes with your arms flung out.

Practical uses? Absolutely none whatsoever.

Non-practical uses? Impress your friends with your levitating skills, and look generally cooler than you otherwise would.

Something more useful, that everyone should know but many people seem not to:

"/target <bt>" will target the (I believe nearest) mob (i.e. Battle Target) that is claimed by your party, even if you can't see it yet as long (it still has to be within targetable range).

Mash a macro containing this when your puller is on the way to camp to get yourself locked on as fast as hum/tar/mithr/elv/galk-anly possibly. It's also useful when someone in your party pops an NM, as that NM will usually appear already claimed by the party.

If you hold down Ctrl and Alt and then press a number, your macro book will flip to that set.

You can make pretty good gil on a mule in Windurst. Take it outside, give it sickles and level its clothcraft while you harvest and kill mobbies. Kublakhan started this way, and she didn't cost my main a penny. (It's also a wonderful way to kill time if your main is indisposed somewhere.)

If you play BST, put a bunch of VIT gear on your Fight swap. Get an earth staff and put it in there. It saves lives. Smiley: crymore

Really though, other people most likely know these things. I'm just sharing for those who might not.

It doesn't have to be /clock on, anything typed after /clock will show you the time/day but not make your clock disappear. I.E. "/clock p" or "/clock dhqiuoewdhqiuoh"

Funny things can happen when you die while lagging out.

I was in a group once heading to the Throne Room for Shadow Lord fight. We were going through the final room of Zvahl Keep, and we were in trouble. We had loads of aggro.

Our party leader decided to hit Perfect Dodge and book it for the gate, so we could all zone, then come back and raise him.

He lagged out right after he 2hrd.

We all high-tailed it for the door, watching his HP drop. Suddenly his connection came back. We all stood safely at the door, and were treated to his corpse suddenly zooming across the floor right to the door. He had kept on running in his disconnected state, and when the connection righted itself he was dead.Smiley: grin

FTFY. Body Boost + Mana Boost + Convert = :)

Also, I don't know if they fixed it, but it used to be that if you used a Black Mine in campaign while you had an Avatar out on SMN, it would stop taking mp to maintain it, essentially giving a free avatar.

This works great with buffs like spikies, does not have to be anything long casting just have to time it right. It also works with ranged attack using bows, havent tried with any other ranged items yet.

Logging out/in with a spell in your inventory, ie:scroll of Blizzard II, will put that spell into your autotranslate including the "II" part of it, until you logout/in without it in your invenetory

If you're in an area with extreme lag and you're finding it very difficult to type, just enter first person mode and face a wall or the ground or something while typing. Probably nothing unheard of, but meh.

I'm not the only one who know this, but i like to bring it kup whenever possible.

/sea all invite 73-75 will only bring up those LFG 73-75 regardless of zone.

you can add your entire inventory to the auto-translate tool by bringing up "items" (open txt box, tab, up arrow, enter)

(Reward) translates to the BST pet command Reward (pet food)
(reward:) translates to reward and SE added this due to many JPN complaints.
most people still use (Reward) vs (reward:) *its been years now...*
(Help me out!) translates to "Get me out of here!" / "Rescue me!"

(Help me out!) (PLD) AF (reward) 10000 = you sound like a noob.

only NA and EU INSIST on using the auto translate for EVERYTHING they say.

Whats even worse are the people that do it without using the Auto-translate.

I've seen this shout before (verbatim):

Nub: tele-dem can i have it u can have this 2k

Yes, talking like a ****** is exactly what the Auto-translate function is intended for.Smiley: oyvey

You can use the /assist commands for mobs too.

I was telling LS how annoying it is that we only see 'Kirin starts casting Stonega IV' but we cannot see on who it's being cast.

/assist <bt> will show you who the mob is targetting.

Was a real /huh o.O moment when I was told this.

The Flop. I love the Flop.

What you do is cast Cure I on someone that just accepted your Raise. After the animation of them raising up, they flop face down on the ground and spring back up. If you're lucky, they got up trying to run and now they're "swimming" face down on the ground.

Really? I thought they patched that about a year ago. I remember a friend in my linkshell back then ranting and raving because his mule could no longer use teleport spells without getting all the crystals-- he used to be able to teleport anyone anywhere without teleporting himself, and made tons of gil this way.
