orz pretty bad pic, anyway. . .

Ventura roll is a competitive game played with dice similar to those used by corairs. The objective is to roll until your cumulative total comes as close to 11 as possible without going over.

Until you reach or go over 11, you may continue rolling (doubling up) as many times as the table limit allows (1 minute, Earth time).

In addition to doubling up, you may also decline to roll the dice and stay with your current total (hold fast).

If your total ever goes over 11, you will automatically lose the game, regardless of the totals of other players. Knowing the right time to hold fast is one of the keys to staying in the match.

Once all the players have held fast, the game is over and the results are announced. The player closest to 11 is delcared the winner and receives all the gil in the pot (the original participation fees of all the players).

Objective: Roll a six-sided die as many times as necessary to achieve a total as close to 11 as possible. You lose the instant your total exceeds 11.

If two or more players are the closest to 11 at the end of a match, the game is considered a draw and all participation fees are repaied in full.

Once the game has started, fees will not be refunded for any reason unless the match results in a draw.

GOOD LUCK!

The tables are the ones in Lower Jeuno facing the ocean. Each table supports different amount of people. Good way to pass time while lfg and lose/win some cash!

Sounds very interesting.

I only hope this will put the Casinos out of business.

At least for a while!

Yep, it's a very fun game and I'm happy that the Dev decided to include it. Did discover some problems though and sent SE a comment/suggestion email about it.

1)If you go to a 3 or 4 person table you have to wait till the entire table fills up. Last night we went to the 4 person table but only had three people so we had to beg a LS mate to join. (Suggested making all table 4 players but give a 2 or 3 minute time limit from when the first person enters to start the match)

2)During the 4 person match out of 4 match we had 4 draw (2 people draw and 2 lost) so the match was declared a draw and nobody won. (Suggested if this happens to split the pot by the 2 people who drawed).

3)Ask for table in Al Zahbi, Aht Urghan Whitegate, Selbina, and Mhura.

Oh Ninja, let's make this post the Offical Venture Roll Thread. Here is the list of Game Tables I know of with Entry fee and Player Limit:
Windurst Waters (Timbre Timbers Tavern) F-10: 300gil Fee. 3 Players
Lower Jeuno H-8: 500gil Fee. 2 Players
Port Jeuno I-8: 1000gil Fee. 4 Players
Nashmau G-9: 5000gil Fee. 2 Players
But as Ninja said it's fun and a great way to waste time while LFG. Good luck and see you at the Game Tables ^^

I still think they need to build a strip club in Port Jeuono.
It'd double as a gil sink and a good way to spend time while you wait for a party.

Lower Jeuno (H-8) {500gil} {2players}
Port Jeuno (I-9) {1000gil} {4players}

But what happens when the day changes in the middle of play? It'd suck if I got kicked out of a 40k game because its now 'Summoners Drink Free' night at the Marble Bridge?

The last thing we need is another service in Whitegate, but Al Zahbi would be fine. One more NPC, 2 more temp items in Besieged!

just wondering, but wouldn't they need gambling permit? atleast in the US (dunno about other countries...?)

Actually it's no a NPC but rather a table, barrel, or crate that simply says Game Table. Also I think a game table in a less congested area in Whitegate like the teahouse or docks would be okay, just not next the AH or Mog House.

Was on a roll, and won a total of 20k.
But I got greedy and kept playing.
I then end up lossing a total of 40k.
Well there goes my winning strek.

Hmmm.

Go to a 4 player table with 2 friends.

Find a random dummy. Play until that dummy leaves.

3 vs 1, odds are in your favor.

Split the gil between your buddies.

Laugh at the single loser.
