Japan Typhoon effecting FFXI servers :: World of Warcraft

So I got a d/c when zoning today and could never get back in to the game. I called Square Enix to learn that inclement weather has caused some issues with the FFXI servers with no other information available at this time for those of you getting POL- error messages. I was told the issue was currently not known, but that SE was working on it. This was on Odin server.

I remember my client crashing just now, I hope no one got killed because of this.

Seems like it's more a problem with routing than with the servers themselves, since people in different locations are having trouble with different zones, and some weren't having any problems at all.

If you have access to a VPN, trying to connect through that might be worth a try if it keeps up.

Sad, seems like japan is not the most geographically wise place to put a datacenter.
