Wow they really heap the xp on ya with RoE. Also the keyboard setup is bruuuutal for fighting. Is it true you can use an xbox360 ctrl on this? Or any other ctrlr?

This is the only mmo i've played that I just can't play with a keyboard and mouse. I use a Logitech F710 controller. works perfect.

This is the only MMO I play with keyboard only (no mouse). The mouse controls for FFXI are just too bizarre for me to wrap my head around.

Will it recognize my PS3 or 4 controller? Loads of tutorials online for syncing them to your PC but not sure if XI would use it
All I can say is try. I'm one of those weirdos that prefers XI's keyboard only approach.

I use my PS4 controller and it works just fine. The wireless doesn't, but you can plug it into the PC and it should recognize it.

That's how I'd always played it. The quasi-2D mapping of the mouse is horrendous, and controller is just too limiting (especially if multi-boxing).
I've always played FFXI as keyboard only.

I've always been predominately keyboard as well. What I do use my mouse for (sometimes) is menu navigation. but even then, I swap between using the scroll on my mouse and arrow and page up/down keys. Even stranger is that while I am left handed, I constantly swap between mouse use with my left and right hand while playing.
