I was planning on coming back after 2.5 years(just before Aldouin release) I found that it did not support the PS2, which is what i started on. And just read a thread that PS2 and Xbox 360 will no longer be supported at all. So I will need to invest in a new pc to run the game. How has this game population diminished? is Bahamut still an open server? As it was the one I played on. Will my account still be active to keep my characters, gear, gil etc...? Where do I go to reactivate my account? Thank You.

You could play the game on a toaster if you wanted, it's requirements are rather low. Any off the shelf pc or laptop should be able to run the game at marginal settings if it was made int he past 5 years.

As far as your gear/acocunt, SE used to say that they were deleted after a period. Never had it happen, though, so I'd log in and check. You should be able to see your stuff before you reactivate your account.

Yes - XI is CPU oriented due to being a port from the PS2, so any PC in the last...12 years can run it perfectly fine.
