Just returned, question about server change / name change Follow

Hi all,

Some of you may remember me from my post two or three weeks ago about returning to FFXI. You maybe asking what the heck I'm doing here since it seemed only a few weeks ago that I wasn't going to return. Well, I told myself yesterday that If I couldn't get through Thornmarch (Extreme) with my 11th PUG group after 38 attempts (and a total of 17 hours and 44 minutes) I would unsubscribe until Heavensword released and play FFXI again. And well, here I am lol

Side note- Fu#k good King Moogle.

Anyways,

I returned to Bismarck only to find (As I expected) a dead server. I logged in to my alt in Bahamut sever and noticed there were about 760 people online (almost double that of Bismarck). So I want to change all of my characters to this server.

I was wondering if server change / name change works like it used to. If I have an alt character on my account on Bahamut with the same name as my main character, will I be forced to change my main character's name to something else when I transfer him over?

I want to change my main character's name. This is why I made an alt with my main character's name on the server I want to join. Will this plan work?

I transferred over and did what I said I would do in my OP, the name change did indeed work.
