Beyond frustratedFollow

Hi there. So im going to tell you guys the story of my whole adventure with XI so far. I have been playing for the last 2 weeks or so loving and enjoying this game with no problems updating whatsoever. However i realized about 2 days ago that i didnt have SoA expansion yet and thought hey, its 8 bucks so im going to buy it. Now this is where all of my hopes and dreams with this game came crashing down. I purchased it and tried to install... HMMM after 7 downloads or so of getting a corrupt files error i decided i would uninstall my entire FFXI game, and purchase a fresh steam copy. Now before i even attempted to install another FFXI i cleaned my system of ALL FFXI files to make sure that nothing would interfere as the website suggests. Fast forward to today and i have tried installing and re installing FFXI through steam probably 3 times. THE FILES STILL CORRUPT. I dont know what to do at this point, i dont know why the files corrupt for me, ive tried numerous torrents which also corrupt. I dont know and its going to be a shame if this game never works for me. Please help if anyone has a solution to FFXI corrupting during download or install.

I am running windows 8.1

EDIT THE ISSUE IS FIXED, BUY STEAM VERSION FOR ANYONE WITH THIS PROBLEM

yeah what the above poster said. I don't think a lot of the more technically saavy players come here very often. BG or ffxiah are good places to ask.

I think the steam version has some issues so if you can install without steam that would probably help.
