Hello everyone !

I left FFXI few years ago to bring my mithra to the XIV. Unfortunately, I left FFXIV for a time (i will not lie but i'm bored lol).

So i want to come back to FFXI and continue my journey.

When i want to install POL on my computer: it says to me to first uninstall POL from the computer. Hum ok then i look for some POL files. Maybe the uninstall was not complete and i have to find files by myself. I download the Vista / 7 POL version from the SE website.

I used CCleaner to do that and even like that the problem stays the same.

I took some picture to show you what is going on. I'm sorry i'm french so the text will be in french.

So here it tell me to uninstall the POL and TM from my computer. Naturally i say "OK".

Just after that an other exclamation pop to my face:

It says that it couldn't localize the files from the folder. But when i'm going to this folder (in Temp Files) it's here !

After click on OK several times: it pop me that:

I look on the internet some help from ppl who could have the same problem but i didn't find anything. I try to use Microsoft Fixit but nothing changed. Nothing in the programm Delete/Modify windows. Nothing in the register. I really don't know what is wrong with that.

I really thank you for helping me. ^_^

Jumping to registry editing probably wouldn't have been my first step, especially via ccleaner. So, hopefully you saved a back up to restore.

Otherwise, the default install usually goes under Program Files in a PlayOnline folder. Add x86 to the PF part if you're 64-bit. If that differs in French versions of Windows, adjust according, I suppose. If you can't see anything there, then open the Programs and Features list via Control Panel through the Windows taskbar. If you've got FF stuff still, it'll more than likely be clumped together along with POL if you sort the list by date.

Last resort, since it seems like you're running the POL version from a direct download, is to NOT run it via right clicking the link from the site. Rather, save it to your desktop first and then try running it (as administrator) to see if that solves the access issue.
