Old BCNM75s do-able at 99?Follow

I'm curious about the old Lv75 "uncapped" BCNM fights.

I was giving thoughts of finishing the Black Belt (and of course getting other things in the process), and I was wondering if the old BCNM75 battles were uncapped, or if they are capped at 75 (thus impossible for me)?

Also, I don't suppose they removed the caps from earlier BCNMs along with removing the caps for the CoP mission fights, did they?

I managed to solo my Behemoth Tongue with my BST so I do believe the BB item ones are uncapped. A lot of the BCNM are still capped, though, like the ones for Utsutsemi: Ni.

So that means camping Nue, et. al. for the Brown Belt then, lol. I have the Purple, but not the brown and sadly the Brown Belt items are BCNM50. blah lol. But with ~800 players online at any given time and 90% of the active ones being in Adoulin, it is unlikely anybody else is after this stuff (esp the Morbol)..

Checking FFXIclopedia, it looks like the Brown Belt KSNMs are also uncapped. I didn't know that :o

Edit: Well... it says two of the three have no level restriction, and one of them has a level 50 cap... could be outdated. The Morbol KSNM has testimonies of LV99s soloing it, so I'd wager they're all uncapped. No one seems to have ever done the Tiger KSNM and updated the wiki lol.

Kindred Seal BCNMs were never "capped" (as in, you could even buff/Meditate outside the battlefield and keep your buffs/TP upon going in) so yeah, they are still uncapped now, and generally easy wins at 99 (especially with IL gear). It's probably feasible now if you're really decked out to just power your way through the KS99 adamantoise's regen nowadays, but that was the one KSNM fight that still took some degree of effort pre-Adoulin. Not sure how it's like now.

ENMs on the other hand have all been level capped, meaning the previously "uncapped" ones still level cap you to 75.

The tiger fight is a 50x Beastmen Seals fight, not a KSNM. As such, yes, there is a level 50 cap.

Pop windows/conditions for most old world NMs were eased a long time ago though. Not sure if Nue was included, but he technically should qualify being as Beaucedine Glacier is a non-expansion zone. I would try camping him for a bit and see how you fare (and don't just go afk for an hour after killing him without a drop either; most of these NMs seem to be able to respawn again much sooner than 1 hour now)

Ahh, okay, thanks!

I dunno why, I looked up the Tiger one and assumed the rest were also BCNM50 (since it is the same quest, right?), lol.

I wasn't aware of the easing of NM pop conditions, that's also awesome news. I suppose I could always use some Mythril Beastcoins anyways...

Moborlger is something I tend to find up a lot in Ordelle's caves these days and since they added the waypoint there, it's even easier to check if it's up or not.
If you find it really difficult to get this guy then you have a really good chance after server maint and get the clear for your RoE at the same time.
(People don't seem to camp these the way they used to.)
Although it does sound fun revisiting those old BCNMs, you might want to hold on to those seals for the black belt bcnms to give yourself more chances at beastly shank ect.

Nue usually pops within 30 mins of killing PH for me and is also another RoE NM. (Maybe I'm just lucky I don't know.)

Deadly dodo was the NM that gave me trouble back in the day but then I was camping against another person who needed it for his trial weapon and didn't want to team up.

Contaminate Colosseum has a decent chance at dropping the Vine, it also drops 1 Vine 100% gurenteed, only problem is taking the ~15K HP off him before he used 'Extremely Bad Breath' because it stinks that bad you instant KO causing problems.

You would have to go in /SAM (might aswell get 300% TP instead of just 100%), Engage (keep Hasso up - his hits at weak to an ilevel117 its just an insta death move that will ruin your run) after WS Meditate up again and WS, finally have an Ic wing ready for the final WS if needed and get your win.

Voke him to the side of the BC just incase you mess up and have reraise up to do it again. Its a zerg kill so have everything in your solo capacity ready for a zerg win - It would be even better if you had a friend who wants to come simply to make some gil as 2 vines can drop from the BC, he could come as a second DD/SAM or a SAM main and he will drop like an overly smelly fly.

Dodging Extremely Bad Breath isn't that hard even as a melee, you just have to be already running before the move starts being readied (the 25% universal movement speed boost they implemented a while ago may help with this and not as much of a head start may be needed anymore).

If I remember this fight correctly, EBB starts getting used after you see the "Evil Oscar takes in the air around him etc etc" message three times. As his HP drops, the intervals between these messages shorten.

Well, if I did this BCNM, family member and I'd both be there; we'd probably go for a Light Skillchain (Exentrator -> Upheaval).

The skillchain alone on Lv100 mobs in Gustav can do upwards of 6,000 damage (sometimes more) and that's not counting the weaponskills.

I'm thinking the silly plant would be dead as soon as we both get 1000 TP unless it has a severe magic resistance or resistance against Light or something.

This is why you both go /SAM to Meditate up to 1200TP, sometimes the warnings that EBB is coming start very early on in the fight, you wouldn't need any defensive JA's as it'll whiff all over you and there is no defense to EBB. Start the fight doing your SC and it will most likely be dead, you could play it even safer and wait for Meditate to be ready for a 3rd time so you can pop it as soon as you have let off your first SC to finish off the Morbol with another WS or 2.

Other useful things - if pty is wiped it'll start regening (thf can flee/run off at first sign of EBB then kite, chances are you can both run off at normal run speed but I found you need to start running soon after the first warning to get out of the large range of EBB. Nothing wrong with a Thf making use of /SAM for specific purposes either, otherwise many ppl will say I'm over complicating an easy fight, its more that I'm just warning that EBB can come very early sometimes, other times the DoT alone from the pair of you would prob be enough to kill it without it going off.

I have a random question, if I may hijack slightly. I haven't played in a while but I've noticed people on the forums referring to TP in the thousands. Did something change? Is it 3000 TP now instead of 300%?
#13 Aug 25 2014 at 1:15 PM Rating: Good
Yes Diamondis, it is now 3000TP instead of 300, they made that change a couple updates back. Now instead of being able to weaponskill at 100 it is 1000. Everything got bumped up by a factor of 10 even the tp gain.

Huh, weird. Guess it was for Store TP visibility?

Most likely, yes. They figured writing it 1002TP is better than writing it 100.2 and if they just wrote 100 then the .2 is there but invisible.

What I WISH they would do, would be to include the . in Skills. For example... 92.1 Alchemy Skill or 423.8 Great Axe skill.

I really don't see why they don't; the numbers are clearly kept track of. Why not show them?

Basically the change was made so that "tenths" of TP is now visible.
