Trust: MumorFollow

I feel a bit daft asking this but has anyone else had issues obtaining Mumor?
For years I've always felt the Mumor event was a bit of a time waster (mostly because I was more then a bit rubbish at it) but since they added her trust spell and want to add her to my spell list.

Does anyone have any tips on this event as all I tend to get from the NPCs is "......How rude"
I can't tell which Mumor to target for cheer as they are both called "Mumor" I find it all a bit confusing.

There's a guide at the bottom, I did this last night but was unable to do it properly untill at least one other person was there. Hang around for someone else and then it's pretty simple.

Edit: guide has been updated for solo too now =)

Its possible to do this solo, I've done this for 3 other mules. I start off by buying a few fireworks and spam cheer/clap macro until she uses a dance, manage to get 5-7 by myself not including the firesday fever part..

Ah I've been reading that guide between Mumor's shows and I've been here for 3 of them so far and not got anything from the Moogle.
Also just seen a guy pop for one event and get the "Kengyu Happi" (blue male summer breeze top) on his first try.
I don't know if he's been here on other occasions when I haven't been around but I am getting slightly annoyed with the event, :(

Just remember, mumor in blue is the good one and the one in the bathing suit is the trust/bad one. I've had a lot of practice with this event over the years and still have macros for it; it isn't that hard, it's more of a matter of targeting the right one (I use a controller, if you use a kb you might have to tab around) and cheering/clapping/dancing.

Yeah the guide originaly said to just spam cheer, which does not work on its own, once someone else came down it worked, Seems you need to clap too =)

Hmm the issue I was aiming at earlier is when you see "....How rude!" in chat log I wasn't sure which Mumor was being dissaproving of my Cheer.
Sounds silly I know. ><
I think this is one of the few events I tend to skip because I never mastered it. (Due to getting annoyed really quickly with it, waiting for the next show to start ect.)
I'll try again tomorrow with some fireworks as Szabo suggested. I am mad with my pc atm ..lol.

Dam I had cheer in each line as I used copy/paste in my macro... should modify that to alt cheer/clap then.
I didn't notice that and I went back and checked the guide.. so silly.../facepalm

That's what I was doing and failing with a 6 line cheer macro. I Think the "how rude" thing is mumor taking damage and if the same thing happens to you, she just eventually dies lol

When it's time to cheer the real Mumor on (indicated by the 3 npc dudes behind her, doing /clap /cheer and /wave emotes), you want to target her and alternate between at least 2 of those emotes as quickly as you can. Has to at least be a second or so wait inbetween them, or you will get chat errors and your emotes will not actually get used. Using only one kind of emote doesn't seem to work either (or at least, it didn't before; I'm assuming it still doesn't); you have to alternate them.

The "How rude" means there are not enough alternated emotes being aimed in her direction quickly enough. Even if you're the only person there, if you're alternating emotes at the proper pace you won't see this message appear.

When the Diva starts talking that means enough emotes have been done to perform a dance soon. Target the other Mumor for this.

It helps to have macros for all of this stuff (4 for the dances, another 2 for the emotes; alternatively you can cram several emotes into one macro if you like, just make sure they have waits inbetween and are not all one kind). Don't forget to use "/emote motion"; do your part to reduce chat spam. :<

I did the macros for the dances on a new macro palette just so I could do this quest. It confused the hell out of me at first and I didn't get it down until like the third dance (I came in half way the first one and tried to watch people, but didn't catch on, so I went back to reading online for the next one, where I failed miserably with timing on targeting back and forth between the two).

Once you learn the timing of things (whenever they both stop attacking for a second and spout off their rant; target the "bad" imposter (the one not in the crowd) and use your dances against her, hitting the macro for the ability associated with mumor's chat message (see wiki for more info on that). Do that successfully (quick enough to count) and it'll give you a chat message saying success. Do that enough times (10 successes supposedly) and turn into the moogle to get event outfit. For me, I did 10 (I had them all in my chatlog so I know it was 10 exactly) and I didn't get the outfit. So I did it another time, with another 10 in my chatlog, and this time it gave me the outfit.

For me, as an older adult male, this quest just felt awkward and oddly embarrassing as I found myself questioning "what the hell am I doing with my life". I couldn't imagine explaining this quest to anyone I know and having them grasp it's importance or why a grown man would spend his time doing this... but there I was, fail dancing away until I got my trust.

I will say that if you don't get the trust, don't beat yourself up, this is easily the worst trust I've obtained so far, and outside of initial testing, I have no plans to call mumor out in the field for anything worthwhile, not even low-low-low level stuff where drain samba might be worth something.
