I used to play a fair amount probably 2 years ago, and I was wondering if it was worth going back to play? I probably must've got to about level 50 and never really much further past that. Obviously with time going on less and less people are playing the game, so is it possible to spend your time soloing (which i have no problem with)? What new features do they have that enable this?
You didn't really get to a point where you experienced a lot of the game so it's hard to say whether or not you'd enjoy it now. Probably your best bet is to go to playonline.com and check on the recent updates they have made to the game. It's definitely a lot more solo friendly now.
It doesn't have the population it used to, but I attribute a lot of that to the fact that you can do things on your own terms now. You no longer have to shift your IRL schedule around to accommodate the game.

If you've always wanted to experience the storyline, get to max level, unlock all the zones, check things out on your own terms - there has never been a better time to play.
Leveling will mostly be solo but they have sped it up a lot with things like Records of Eminence (basically a questing system that is accessed through the menu - rewards a currency called sparks that you can use to buy gear and other items and exp) and Trust magic (you can summon up to 3 NPCs to fight with you).
