wat job should i level?Follow

greetings citizens,

i was wondering what are the most useful/wantedl jobs in seekers of adollin ? i have never played seekers before and coming back from a very long break.

i have paladin, dark kingh and beastmaster leveled to 99. no relic weapons.

i am interested in red mage, white mage, ranger, warrior, samurai, summoner, ninja, rune fencer and geomancer. are any of these useful? easy to gear up with repsect to relic weapons?

Your paladin is undesirable without the relic and/or Empyrean so that's out unless you want to devote a lot of resources to it.

Of the jobs you have at 99, I think DRK might be the easiest to start gearing up with SOA goodies. You want to start with low level Skirmish (Rala waterways) and grab a basic weapon from there, then go to Yorcia Weald for gear, then eventually up to Outer Ra'Kazar or whatever it's called for the key item needed to upgrade the Rala weapon to max level.

Those steps apply to any of the jobs listed these days, by the by. Skirmish weapons are second only to relics/empyreans (and beat them out in a few cases, such as Lehbrailg +2 for BLM.)

If you want to do something new, and liked tanking, you might love Rune Knight. I've seen those guys in action and they are the best tank against magic heavy foes. A Rune Knight can solo lots of bosses in Abyssea without a brew these days.

Of the three you already have, PLD will take a lot of work as you pretty much need Ochain and/or Aegis in order to justify your spot in a group like Catwho mentioned. DRK won't be too much of a pain to catch up probably, but is one of the least-sought-after of the main DDs at this time because of its low survivability in an era when DDs are the tanks most of the time. BST is, well, the same as it's always been. Nobody can really use you in a group, but it does well enough in solo.

Of the jobs you're interested in, RDM has limited usefulness anymore. WHM & SMN are my two main jobs and there's no shortage of demand for either one. SMN in particular has made long strides in the last year or so, becoming very valuable in many events. RNG is also extremely high-demand if you have a Lv119 weapon, as it's very useful in some of the really hard content that's out right now like the new Delves, new Ouryu fight, new AA fights, etc. WAR & SAM are two really powerful DDs right now, and along with MNK I would say they are the top demand. NIN is also extremely powerful though not very well-recognized as such, so while there are a lot of uses for it, it won't get a lot of invites unfortunately. GEO has its uses although most people will probably require convincing to let you in, while RUN is still struggling to find its place.

Overall you have a lot of good options in your desired jobs, so I'd encourage you to probably either do DRK first or go straight into leveling up one of your next choices. The reason I don't recommend BST is because most of the newer content, which you'll be missing all the crucial gear from, is group content that you can't really solo very effectively even with modern gear.

Seconding SMN & WHM, as those are my two mains as well.

I happen to love the support roles in this game, and whm is a requirement in every serious party. This is also a downside, though, as almost everyone has leveled whm, and its one of the first spots in shout parties that is taken. Many people, though, would be more than willing to swap out to another job if you want to play whm instead of them.

SMN is a very powerful hybrid role, able to chuck out high burst damage and strong support abilities (aoe haste, atk/evasion down, aoe refresh, and a very powerful ability that reduces dmg done by a certain % that can save your party). It also has one of the strongest 1-hr abilities, and even its lesser 1-hr allows access to Alexander, which makes your party nearly invincible for the duration. SMN also is one of, if not the, strongest solo job if geared well. SMN/WHM can probably solo every non-adoulin boss with a 119 ammo and some decent perpetuation gear.

If you level both, theres likely nothing in the game you can't do.
