I have played ffxi on and off since rise of Zilart and started on a ps2. Years after I upgraded to the 360 and last year I played for the first time on my pc and I loved it. It was a e machine so it wasn't that great but the improvement to the graphics and resolution was great after playing on consoles my whole ffxi life. That computer has died I believe, the issue is it will cut off shortly after loading the desktop, I wiped my hard drive and loaded Linux to test and I still have the same cutting off issue so I'm unable to use the pc and that just sucks

So now I'm looking for a new pc to hold me over till I buy a new pc and I think I found one for a great price, but I'm not to knowledgeable about parts and how well they perform.

Will this pc be able to run FFXI at high settings even during a high traffic area or at least good settings with high fps. Please help and thank you for your time

That self-build kit doesn't come with a hard drive, or operating systems, so that's extra money you will have to spend. I have no doubt this system would play FFXI. The first system I played FFXI on is well over 8 years old and it ran fine at that time.

Hope this helps!

i was gonna add my current 500 GB HDD and get a copy of Win7. As a whole do you feel this build will play this with windower active, draw distance and settings bumpped up. I want the game to look and run really well.

Make sure you check the guide in my sig. I think I covered all the bases but for a console to pc user, there's some..complications you should be aware of. ^^

Otherwise, welcome back!

Sorry I didn't get back with you sooner, but I agree with the rest of the people. Your system should play fine.

If it can run Windows7, it can play FFXI. I was running FFXI at full speed with early WindowsXP machines, which were far, far weaker than anything you could put together today.

Now, how good remains to be seen. Going to 1900+ resolutions might be more difficult, I don't know.

I use a laptop with a pentium core and intel integrated graphics and runs well enough to play on low settings.
