What to do with Sparks/Vouchers...Follow

So all of this RoI stuff is giving me a *ton* of Sparks, I'm up to nearly 40k and I notice the cap is 50k. I'm going to be making Warrior my first Lv99, perhaps my "Main" for awhile as I've rather gotten used to the playstyle and nothing else is close except for THF, RDM, and WHM. No offense against those jobs, but I usually end up enjoying WAR more.

I looked it up on FFXIclopedia and it sounds like the Lv99 Weapons are a good buy, but yet they talk about the armor in a way that makes it sound like said armor is kinda "meh".

So my question then becomes... sure I can buy the weapon and that'll sink 7k sparks, but that surely won't keep me from capping. Is the Lv99 Armor a good buy, or should I wait until something better before spending sparks?

Also, I don't have the expansion yet (I hope to, soon. I think I might be staying around for awhile, I was actually kinda having fun making actual progress on my character for once!), so I need to consider that as well. I also considered perhaps a piece or two of Reforged AF, but I'd have to buy 10 pages since I don't have the AF+1, and those are only IL109 rather than the... what was that again? 116? 117? that you can buy with Sparks? The WAR Boots with the +3% Double Attack rate look quite nice, though.

Also, what about Copper Vouchers? I notice they can be used to buy Beitetsu (sp?), and the other two items like it, but I do not even have a Relic/Empyrean/Urghan weapon and reading what it takes to actually get one of those weapons, doesn't sound like I'll be getting one anyday soon either, 'cept maybe a Relic one depending on whether or not I can find a LS that still does Dynamis.

Looks like the only other thing I can get with Vouchers is 1k Currency of various types; I don't have a whole lot of Imperial Standing Points or whatever those are called. And then there's Bayld which looks like the current "thing" to get, though I'm not sure how good 1k is.

Any suggestions/etc appreciated!

EDIT: Also, is the Dynamis Key Item (the hourglass, not the vial) consumable? It is listed in wiki under "permanent" key items, but I'd like to know for sure ahead of time.

The weapons are very solid compared to how easy they are to get. The armor is in the same boat. It's not the best stuff out there, but it's 17k sparks for a full set, which is basically nothing, and it's a huge improvement over any pre-99 gear.

You already know how fast you can get 17k sparks, so go ahead and get the weapon and full set of 117 gear and enjoy just how much easier it makes everything. Then, you can focus your sparks on items for upgrading your AF / relic, as those take much longer to complete.

For vouchers, you can either use them for any currency you have a need for (you're right that Bayld is the current-content one) or to get upgrade items for R/E/M weapons (or to get the items to bazaar - plutons seem to be the best value globally). If you are leveling a new job (not abyssea key burning), you can get weapons to keep them current since the AH is urually pretty bare. There are also skill up tomes available, but I haven't personally resorted to those yet.

Dynamis is no longer a linkshell event, but now a solo or lowman event. With the 117 sparks armor set and weapon and a dancer sub you can easily farm currency, relic gear, etc. in Dynamis once a day. The entry item is a one-time purchase now and is not consumed.

Ahh. I heard something about this, but I was reading on wiki and it sounded like harder NMs (like Attestations required for Relic Weapons) needed a group to kill, though. But I'll definitely try it once I get up to 99. Good thing I leveled that DNC subjob up, lol.

Thanks for the advice!

I can't speak to the particular NMs you were looking at, but I think there's still quite a few that still have information based on the original version of the event. And adding item level gear makes a big difference too.

I'd suggest just saving vouchers until you actually need something from them. Since the npc will store them for you, inventory space isn't an issue, but your needs as far as currency might change later.

My suggestion would be similar to what JamesonP said above. The gear you can get with eminence sparks isn't great, but it is very inexpensive and will put you in a good place for starting in on the higher level content.

Once you are lvl 99, start farming dynamis as suggested (your war/dnc will do well) and join whatever SKCNM / Rem's Tale 1-5 runs that you can--these will allow you to upgrade AF and relic gear to the 109 pieces. The fights are not terribly hard, so you won't be required to have top level gear.

After you get your ilevel weapon and armor from sparks, save your sparks for Rem's Tales 6-10, which are used to upgrade to 119. Tales 6-10 drop from the harder Arc Angel v 2 fights, and will require better gear, as well as merit points to enter the fight. Buying additional Tales with sparks can help speed up the upgrade process.

Weapon first if you don't already have a good Delve weapon, then armor if you need it, then skill up items. (Plop! Plop! Plop! Plop!)

And I've been using my vouchers to buy more sparks.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and Rem's Tales for upgrading old AF. You'll still get hit in the wallet for the crafting items needed for the upgrade, some of which are worse to get than others.
