Blargh.

So, reading the front page, Cherukiki joins Prishe and Ulmia (sp?) in the "Must defeat Bahamut if you were too dumb to have went too far in CoP quests a long time ago".

Now I regret taking that one extra cutscene that started the next quest so long ago.

Hopefully there'll be people still doing him because of these new trust NPCs that I can somehow squeeze mine in, though I'm only Lv80 with "meh" gear.

EDIT: No wait, sorry, false alarm.

I thought the article said "Between Dawn and the next quest".

Certain jobs can probably easily solo, anyone + a healer could duo it. So you wouldn't need too much help.

If by 1/16 chance you were on Lakshmi, I could knock him off for you.

Unfortunately I'm on Slyph, but thanks for offering!

But dayum, that can be solo'd/duo'd now?

That used to be an 18 person fight, wasn't it?

I remember how my linkshell spent weeks organizing Bahamut and how great it felt when we won. Years later I facerolled Bahamut with little to no fear of dying all by myself.

It's the difference (to a degree) between lvl 117 and lvl75.

Imagine going to the dunes at lvl 45. You'd be taking out monsters that normally needed a full party of lvl 15s.

There are two different Bahamut fights.

The storyline one is for a regular party. The 18 man alliance one is the super version of the storyline fight and drops the good (at the time it was released, I guess) items.

It's worth noting, Storms of Fate (the first "storyline" Bahamut fight) also allowed an alliance.

Both fights can be comfortably duoed now though by nearly any sort of DD/healer mixture, although the 2nd one might need to be burned down fairly quickly before Vrtra starts with its charm shenanigans.

Reminds me I need a BZag for my collection...

it's a bit hard not to get the cs for storms of fate as you get it automatically just by entering the palace. :(

I did storm of fates (and subsequently Apoc Nigh) on my 99 THF/DNC wearing full Espial set (iLevel 117) with an Eminent Dagger and Camaraderie Dagger and easily wiped the floor with Bahamut and then the 2 sniveling Zilartian brothers solo.

Welp, for some reason I cannot get Cherukiki and I can't figure out why.

The official site does not mention Storms of Fate at all, and I have a Rajas Ring so I know I got up to Dawn.

When I talk to Talligeas (however you spell his name..) I keep getting the quest "Ducal Somethingrather" where he asks for 4-5 random items to be delivered to him.

Not sure what the deal is with that.

EDIT: Whoops, lol. That's an "upcoming thing" that isn't implemented yet. lol. Not used to them releasing so much info about what is going to come out soon.

Need to get last cutscene COP
Zilart up to Celestial nexus.

Then you can get Storms of Fate. After doing Apocalypse Nigh you can get Pirshie, Ultima

I got Ulmia no problem, it's just locking out Prishe.

On another note:
Nashmeira's attacks are well?......
Somewhat amusing!

I'm in the middle of belatedly soloing through CoP right now: if the later missions are anything like up to PM5-3 (the trackers, Tzar etc), you can probably solo it on a 99 job. I've been in campaign battles that were five times harder than anything I've faced so far.

I'm not all the way through of course, maybe it gets exponentially harder (if it does that would be a nice surprise), but up to now it's been a cakewalk.

I'm pretty sure BST can solo the whole thing even without any Adoulin gear, although some care will need to be taken near the end on fights like the 4 zdeis, as they will still happily nuke your *** into the ground even at 99 if you let them. Not sure how exactly BST goes about that particular fight.

I soloed all of CoP 5 until the end just this past weekend. I was on Sparks gear for MNK. All battles were easy, though I did bring Trusts when I could to help speed up kills, especially on 8-2. Just be sure to get Prishe and Ulia right away after the cutscene in Lufaise. The third Trust gained from that mission requires triggering the cutscene in the palace. I was still able to get the taru just fine.

Yeah, I wiped on my first run through that fight. As it turns out the secret is to stand far away and let the pet do everything. (Aeroga III does maybe 103 damage to Audacious Anna, a pet with 5k exp, and to me it did almost 400 and put my Taru butt in the orange.)

BST pets with Affinity, Monster Gloves and a Sparks axe are crazy: I left for a year or so back when Carrie was the best pet we had, and came back to Pocket HNMs.

I did get all the way through Dawn on COP with only that one death, I'd like to do Bahamut for the second time too if he's not too tough...

just unleash lucky lulush on the blm zdei's and whirl claws the win!

bahamut v1 was the same tactic, just with foot kick
